Default Boot cover pressure

I notice that when the boot cover is on that the driver's side trunk corner is slightly raised up about 1/2" or so (where the boot slides under the lid). You think that the boot cover puts too much pressure on the trunk lid??

1/2" seems a little much, 1/8" or so is not uncommon. Make sure the boot lip is properly hanging over the body ridge (?whatever it's called) under the deck lid and not on top of it. Also, the rubber seal on the lid needs to tuck nicely between the boot and lid when it's closed, sometimes the rubber seal slips away from the lid and "binds" up in this groove, making it more difficult for the deck lid to seat down nicely.

Thank you! I appreciate the response. I am going to re-check to make sure I am not missing something that you have suggested. No one else has responded so apparently it is not a problem (except for me).
