Just purchased this car over the weekend
I am thinking the wheels on the Bird would work better on the Camaro, also plan to drop her at least 1.5, I assume there is a decent market for the wheels I have.

All I know is that per a web site I found they made 170 something of the red SS convt with auto that year, if I remember right the web site said nothing in the specs told what color tops they came with, how many in which color etc.
Thanks guys I am having a blast with it.

I agree on the tan top, it will be Black one of these days.... as will the top on the olds (it is tan also)
I am posting these here because JohnnyB wanted to see some photos of it. I need to get some pics with them together eh. It had a tan interiour in it, till last year by the way. Looks much better with the black.

SWEET '68! I love that stance. Not to hijack w/ non-vert pics, but here's my H-coupe......
And when it rains, it pours........ I drove mine to work today and on the way back from lunch I got behind ANOTHER '68 Cutlass 'vert.
Is that two-tone interior on your SS factory stock? It almost looks like custom leather. I can't say I've seen one like that. VERY nice!

Interior is not stock, very custom leather interior. The car is actually shown by the gm build sheet as being a grey interior car, so they changed all the interior over to a mix of tan and black. I really like it, alot of what sold me on the car. Long term I will change the top to black, I think that looks better on a red car. Might even consider changing the carpet over to black.... I had that look in the olds till I got the rest of the interior done.
Nice H coupe(68's IMHO are the best looking Cutlass period), if those are 15" wheels I have one of them sitting under my deck. The way my car is setup now I can't even run it with anything less than a 16" wheel on the front.... so the wheel sits and waits for me to sell it or something.....
Currently the wheels are back at Boyds getting rehooped to 10" in the back

Did you get that car at United Motors? AKA Camaro King
They recently swaped a black top from a red vert to a black vert with tan interior that had a tan top. Say that 3 times fast
Thye say the swap takes like 20minutes. They would probably swap one for you much cheaper than getting it replaced/recovered

Yep, that is where I got the car, very nice guys there. Are you talking about the black on black Bird that he has there?
And yeah he told me the same thing, never even thought about going that route while I was there
I honestly am planning on changing the top over to black and also thinking about doing the carpet in black as well. My current goal is to get the stereo upgraded to something that sounds decent.

Yep the Blk on Blk bird has a tan interior which normally came with the tan top. It is for sale on ebay right now.
I personally like the look of the tan top on the red vert. It also makes it different and distinctive.

got any pics of the SS rear valance? Who makes that gfx kit? Looks sharp.
Ahh that's it..that's what the nbm ta needs with those huge wheels is a big cow-catcher looking air dam up front. Either that or maybe lower it, but I prefer a bit more ground clearance since I"m not a gentle driver, and drive mine alot.
Oh, and I like that vert cutlass alot too. I just watched the bull-run series on spiketv.com...that was a pretty nice t-top hurst cutlass they had on there.
