Default Painting the rear of my Z06. Thoughts?

I was thinking about painting the back lower veilance of my 01' Z06 like you would do the CETA mod or berger panel on an f-body. Do you guys know anyone thats done it on the vette or do you think it would be kinda dumb.

Many people have done it and I also plan on doing it here shortly. There are several good write ups over on the Corvette Forum.

Yeah quite a few people have done it over on CF. Lol it was hard to sand (prep) my perfect paint, but once I started I knew taking the right steps it would come out looking good. My wife wants to do it on her Z06, it would look good on yellow as well, especially since she has the black wheels on it. Here's a couple pix after I finished mine.

I personally am not a fan, I think it takes away from the clean smooth look, but it isn't completely horrible.

I like it....

If you have a lighter colored car, like yellow, white or silver.... I would contemplate getting the whole rear painted black like the C5R/C6R.

So all you did was tape it off, sand it down and rattle can it? hmm... My dad owns a shop and i could just have him do it when he repaints my car(staying black) Or over the winter i could pull the rear bumper(easy) and do it at my house

Lol yep that sum's it up It took me more time to get it prepped than anything else. Mainly trying to get the line straight with the 1/4 inch pinstripe tape for a nice straight line.
