Default Played with my car at BEAVER! Clutch update

Well I took the car to Beaver Raceway to see what would happen. I promised my friend I would run the car yesterday for his Bachelor party at the track. I took the car in full race ready form minus having a little over half a tank of gas and I didnt add Torco to the car.
First pass with the car wamed up to 190deg's went ok but I think the clutch felt like it hazed very very slightly but made it out and down the track. 2nd pass also felt like it hazed but more. I let the car cool atleast 30-45minutes between runs. I came up and did a 3rd run and the car spun sideways a bit out of the hole so that run wasn't to great. Let the car cool and came back up and I thought the car spun but everyone said couldnt tell but it didnt look like the tires were spinning. I hot lapped the car again and thought i spun again and once again everyone said its not spinning the tires but looks like its pulling out hard. I had no problems shifting but due to clutch worries I didnt try powershifting the car. So my results are vary and not sure but signs of the clutch being ok are not there like I wish. I missed no gears and shifting was ok so the TICK PERFORMANCE master appears to working on but still can't say it works shifting the car at 6700rpm with the pedal to the floor or a light lift on shifting. I was doing the traditional complete lift on each shift. Before I say the times and MPH I have to say this. BEAVER raceway is 700ft above sea level, has a 8* degree incline down the track and you drift bacwards at the line. I ended up deep staging the car so I couldnt drift out of the beams. This is also a IHRA track. They determine trap speeds slightly different then NHRA. I think the timing points are closer together where the NHRA is further apart and shows your approx speed over the 2 points and the IHRA shows the closer speed at the end more so I think. Traditionally most say the track will run approx .15-.20 slower due to the conditions versus a track at sea level. The air conditions were very very good. Upper 40's lower 50's. Mostly clear day slight over cast for most of the morning.

High 1.5 sixty...the clutch must be holding but maybe getting a bit worn out ?
With the 8 degree inline on the track, sounds like your car is right on it's normal.

Hey man, I was the black FRC at the track that day...the Z wanna be who was chasing 12s all day haha. Did you happen to get the DA at the track that day? I meant to get it but just forgot. I knew you were close to 10 but damn only .03 off I didn't realize you were THAT close, that would really **** me off. That incline sucked, I wasn't prepared for it at all and it threw me off for the first couple of runs. Well anyway I just wanted to say hey, it was nice to meet you good luck on 10s

It was a blast watching you tear it up. The supercharged Firehawk and you had some great races, wish he had a rear to launch that thing and you two would be neck and neck. I love how the vette sounds to, not obnoxiously loud but a great tone!

Thanks guys, nice talking to both of you. SlowFRC keep at it, keep on the shifting and get that launch down. Thats your entire hold up is that launch. Remember change that clutch fluid (just reservoir) and pump the pedal like 50 times really fast and let sit for 15minutes and change again. Keep doing that till it stays clear. Get some street miles on it driving normal with lots of clutch in and out to get rid of the glaze from that mean pass. Then go back and giver hell!!!

I may be trying out cecil wednesday nite pending weather and if i can get tires on the front due to the flat DS-2 front runner. Trying to get the electric waterpump on too. I have a 700rwhp 03 cobra to race next sunday just cause i hate cocky people but he has to do a dead stopper Should be a interesting write up.

I'm still on the ropes about doing the bottle. I know that'd throw her right into the 10's w/o having to launch the car hard. However i'm still looking to find a nice 402 or a LS2 short block to put in the car with a new clutch obviously. I keep hearing so many mixed results I may end up with a cheap SPEC 3 or 3+.

As for the Cobra this will be a "NON" sanctioned race to further benifit the 300rwhp less vette I offered a 2nd gear at 50mph pull to 130mph only if he'll do a 1st gear roll or dead stop. We'll find out this sunday hopefully.

Yea im going to be doing the clutch this week, until I can get around to it I'll let the car sit, it deserves a rest after the beating it took this weekend, I did auto cross the day after I saw you at beaver. Don't use the bottle man you can hit 10s on your set up as is and its going to feel so much better when you hit 10s without the bottle. then spray and go for 9s . I second the video of the race or ill have to throw the this thread is worthless without pics card.

Boooo no need for a 402, built 346 with spray gets you 9's and you can hang out for awhile until you get bored.
