Dad looking for a vette, your opinions on this one?
http://www.cars.com/go/search/detail.jsp?paId=285253012
My dad I think is getting the V8 bug seeing my brother and I have a camaro and firebird, and I think he is trying to out do us!
but I am helping him decide on what he wants, and I found this link above at a local dealership
I know there is probably some dealer mark up but do you think this is a pretty solid dea?. I dont know too much about corvette issues, but I do know there usually better quality than the f-body. I would probably have him make sure the clutch since that seems like the biggest place that would need a fix.
If he got a vette I am pretty sure the only mods that might be done to it would be bolt ons.
So what do you think, is this a decent deal. He is just pricing out right now it would probably look to actually buy one later down the road, but the more information the better

In my opinion (just coming out of the corvette market) that one is priced way to high. Sure its almost a 10 year car but the resale on these cars is remarkable. If he has the money, right now is a great time to buy because people have less money and are willing to give up their possessions at a cheaper price just to get some extra cash. Financing is going to be tough on a car that old so cash is going to be king here. If he doesn't mind an older year model C5 such as a 1997 or 1998 (little to no difference in the 2004 models) you can find some pretty great deals. I'd look for one on the internet, particularly through forums (corvetteforum.com) because people on the internet are just a bit more knowledgeable of good pricing and competition is pretty good (for the consumer). Just for a point of reference, I saw a 1997 C5 with 34k go for 17k. Guy got a really good deal but for 17k you can find one in the 50k range fairly easily...
Hope this helps

I passed on a 21k mile frc for $20k this summer. This car was at a dealer. I made a ridiculous offer and they called me back a month later and wanted to take it. Kick em where it hurts. (i didnt buy the car, holding out for a Z)
