Woohoo! Got my 11 sec slip-2002 ZO6 CAI & Nitto DRs
We had a good cold front blow through Friday evening and got the temp down in the 40s here Saturday night. Went to a small local track here in southeast Texas. Its a small track that is an old airstrip that was built into a Dragstrip a few years ago. Not as nice as Houston Raceway Park, but it is a little closer.
Took my 2002 ZO6 - only mods are Halltech Venom CAI & 275-40-17" Nitto Drag Radials. Runs were made with 4000 rpm launch and shifts were 6300 1st-2nd, and 6400 2nd-3rd, and 6400 3rd-4th also all shifts were quick lift shifts. Car had 3/8 tank of gas, weight of car roughly 3100 plus my 280 lb butt makes raceweight close to 3400 lbs.
Made six passes total and managed to beat my old best time twice. Both new bests were not on my best 60ft either. Best 60 ft of the night was 1.793 60ft. on my 3rd pass and then I blew the 1st-2nd shift not sure how that happened
5th pass-
60ft- 1.857
330ft- 5.078
1/8th- 7.752
1/8th- 92.35mph
1000ft- 10.054
1/4 mile- 12.0088
1/4 mile- 115.53mph
6th pass- NEW BEST
Track elev 40ft, temp 44* F, Dew point 25* F, Baro pressure 30.30 for a DA of approx -1332 ft
60ft- 1.825
330ft- 5.058
1/8th- 7.738
1/8th- 90.85
1000ft- 10.027
1/4 mile- 11.9754
1/4 mile- 116.01mph
I know the car has an 11.80 in it, but I think my two year old Nittos are borderline and I have to do my job as the driver!

Good times man. Im trapping almost 117 in my '01, but the best I could muster so far is a 12.32 (that is on a 1.94 60'). I need more seat time for sure and I think I can see an 11 also

Congrats! Back when I had my 03 Z06 I ran a 12.2@116 in 104* August weather, 7th pass in the car. I know I could have run in the 11s in cold weather, sold the car before I had a chance to head back

I do have some ported LS6 heads and a decent cam also, I just have not totally decided whether or not to tear into the engine or just do the external bolt-ons and call it good enough. I really want to make it faster, but dont want to rag it out at the same time.
I also have a 98 Z28 that I run at the track from time to time. Its just a 120k mile bolt-on car and it has run 12.13 @ 110.5mph w/1.663 60ft. I know the smart thing to do would be to make the Z28 the dedicated track car and just put the headers & x-pipe on the ZO6 and be happy with a mid to high 11 sec daily driveable ZO6.

Hey OLE BUDDY thanks for the pm on ls1gto or email telling me about the good news. (insert simile for sarcasm )
My new Vette should be here soon, probably by early December.
BTW, Housewolf will take his car to HRP tomorrow night, or he posted on ls1gto that he was going to. Maybe we can both make it out, might be some great weather to get your 11.8.
You have my email..........if you decide to come out to HRP please be sure and let me know.
Oh, by the way, nice job on your times.

I know what you mean about maintaining 2 fast cars.Back in the 80s I was towing a tunnel ram Vega with a LS6 Chevelle. The Vega ran 10.6s and the Chevelle ran low 12s.If the Vega broke I would finiish the day with the Chevelle.I was single living at home with my parents as that was the only way to keep both cars running right. And yes gas was cheap
No, the car does not have a tune. I am really holding off until I do a few mods so I dont have to keep going back. I have some longtubes and X-pipe to put on it. I just wanted to get an 11 sec slip with it pretty much in stock form, I knew the car would do it if I did my part as the driver. I honestly think it will do some 11.80s just like it is with more consistancy on my part in getting the launch down. Its a fine line between burning the clutch or the tires, pick your poison
