sorry, never had an after market air filter before. how do you remove it?

It's pretty straight forward. Loosen the clamps up on the bellows, remove the bellows, then loosen up the clamps on the MAF and remove that. Then the Blackwing will come right out. It's a little tricky putting it back in. Take a look at the front and you'll see 2 spots that it hooks too. Then also make sure when you put the bellows back on that you don't kink it since it's easy to do. Adjust everything to get it all lined back up and tighten all of the clamps back up. Don't start tightening any of the clamps until you get it all back together though since you'll likely need the wiggle room.

You need the cleaning/oiling kit for it too in case you don't have it yet. A lot of the vendors on here sell it.

I've cleaned mine a few times.

i sold my blackwing a while back, but have an almost brand new cleaning kit for it... used only once...
