Default Z06 H/C install progress pics

Just thought I'd start a progress thread since this might take me a while. I officially started last night and worked on it for about an hour. I'll post more as I move along. I've got some AFR 205's, custom cam, Halltech CAI, and UD pulley going in.

Some easy stuff out of the way

Fans and radiator out

Remember, you don't have to take the rack out, just move it out of the way...The whole swap is fairly easy, just take your time and you'll have no issues. If you get stuck let us know..
Make sure that little fridge has some beer in it...

Not much to show tonight: waterpump and alternator are out plus it's jacked up ready to pull the steering rack. And yes the giant dark spot is from letting coolant dump out everywhere.

I was thinking I had to pull it out completely but I'll look into just moving it, and yes there's plenty of beer stocked up

Cam is a Patrick G grind - spec'd at 231 235 .617"/.624" 113+4 but cam doctor shows more like 232 237 .615" .619". After today I think I would rather do a cam swap on an F-bod...that steering rack sucks a fat one but at least it's out now along with the power steering stuff and swaybar.

If you think you might do the swap again, now it the time to install a 2-piece timing cover

After 3 more sliced fingers (I've officially learned my lesson to keep my gloves on) - here's today's progress. Cam and heads are out. Still need to pull the oil pump to port it and then all the new stuff can go in.

Making some real progress! Want to come do mine next? LOL! Guess I'll keep mine stock.

In addition to what Dave mentioned be sure each cylinder is clean too before strapping on those heads.

Looking good man. Be extra sure to get all the water out of the head bolt holes as mentioned above. Triple check it. I would install ARP head bolts for the hell of it.
