That's pretty awesome, dude. 19 with a C5 is a big thing. Just be careful. There's a big difference between the LS1 and the 5.0 in the Mustang.

Get out there and pick up on chicks!

I'm 19 as well, and got a steal on my 2001 c5 zo6. 26k miles, procharged, spec stage 3 clutch, RPM stage V tranny with reinforced shift linkage, B&M short throw, Lingenfelter fuel system making over 500rwhp.

The looks that 19 year old's get in NICE *** vettes is amazing.

Ah geez. I'm 26 and just now getting my first Vette. You lucky bastards! LOL. When I was 19, I drove around a '79 **** brown Pontiac Bonneville.

I got looks too... Frowns and disgust!

I'm 36 and just got my first vette - a 99 C5 coupe. I would've loved a Z, but it was still too much for me

When I was 19 I was driving around a **** box 4cyl S10

BTW, I hate the long sloppy feel of the stock shifter so I tried the MGW! Really short and laser precise, but was way to stiff for my taste (especially if my wife wants to drive it).

I'm trying to find a C6Z shifter now.

Guess I won't give my age when I got my first Vette

I have the C6 shifter (not Z06, not sure of difference either) and it is the way the car should have come. Had the Hurst for two weeks, hated it and sold it.

Hope you enjoy the MGW. The difference over stock is awesome (goes for any aftermarket shifter). Seems like more and more young guys are getting C5s with the dropping prices - I am 20 and just bought mine in Feb. I have never looked back , especially after modding. Have fun and ignore the reactions of naysayers - I have met many folks who just dont accept that I am 20 and have THAT car .

Looks like I'm DEFINITELY changing shifters... The one I have now is just WAY too stiff. I let a few of my friends try it out and they're all saying the same. If I were to stick with it for a few weeks, my right arm will get built up like pop-eye's.

I guess I'll pull it out and put in the C6Z shifter.

I just bought a MTI six shooter (new design). I'll post up what I think after it's installed.
Marketed as a shorter more precise throw without the stiffness.

Fingers crossed.........

Man i went with a kirban and love it! especially after i machined up a shift stick 1"1/2 shorter with a dog leg in it so its centered over the shifter, now its got the shortest throws ive ever felt in any car ive been around.

MTI six shooter has finally been installed!

Impressions:
Much shorter and more precise than stock. However, not quite as short as the MGW. For me I much prefer the MTI since it's not nearly as stiff as the MGW. stiffer than stock, but something you could drive everyday without fatigue. The only knock IMO is that is it's a little louder than the MGW. Where the MGW was just about silent the MTI has a little noise coming through. Although not bad at all. The MTI reminds me a lot of an F-body shifter with a Lou's short stick!

For me hands down, MTI all the way. Great product as described at a very good price.
