Your car is probably fine. You spent too much time reading about all these high 9 low 10 sec cars and feel like your car will do it right off the bat.Your 60 ft is telling the tale, some work there as well as track time will shave the numbers down.Trust me I have some horrible slips(in my opinion) for a twin turbo stroker car,it takes a lot more practice to get a six speed car down the track fast. You will get there, patience !

Seat time....

I'm in the same boat I went Friday night with my '00 M6 and ran 8.66 @ 86.6 with 2.19 60s.

I am looking for a drag pack now, The MPH is 7.99 material if I ( We ) can make it 60.

Dont let it hop, lowering probably wont help.Hop = broken parts, guaranteed ! Buy an extra set of rims and mount some drag radials to run, make sure it has a GOOD set of shocks, ease the clutch, dont dump it,and try not to redline it,just squeeze. takes lots of practice to properly launch a C5 stick,I am still working on mine too !

How about making a sig, so we know what you drive. The screen name is a little mis leading. Just giving you some $hit man. Good luck at the track next time.

I too am having issues with my launch. The torque is hard to handle even with DR's. A proper burnout should help. The bad news is that my car acts strange when I attempt it. Oh well I'll keep practicing that too until I get it right. Again good luck !

The larger diameter rim you run the less traction you are going to get as well due to less and less sidewall...

Not saying its impossible to run a time on a bigger rim - there are some super quick outlaw drag radial cars out there on 17s now - just more difficult

Ouch, I was thinking yours was the 2000 like mine. I would think the LS3 should at least trap more than that regardless. Mine is a stock LS1 with a vararam trapping the same as you.

yeah but the thing that pisses me off so bad is my automatic c5 vert w/ exhaust with no lid or proffesional tune ran 8:50's...i gotta lota work to do...i guess 6 speed will be a little slower at the track till i get the hang of it, but it will be more of a street killer tho....

I still think the trap speed is down. That should be there regardless of the bad 60. You ran near identical times and MPH as mine and I should be down a good deal of HP to you.

My car is a 2000 m6 with only a vararam and went a 8.6 @ 87 with a 2.2 60 and I KNOW my driving sucks LOL.

I would think the ls3 would make more power than my LS1 with only a cai and therefore should trap higher, either way have fun with it!!!!!!

I just wanted to through in that don't most LS3 vettes trap around mid teens with your average driver? (1/4). It seems to me that mph he gave (87) seems a bit low. My 98 z28 a4 ran 87mph with headers thats why I'm asking.
