Default STS + c5/c6? If so, how do you like it?

Looking at C5's constantly, and wondering if an STS system is worth it.

STS C5's/C6's please chime in! How do you like it?

Any reliability problems? How much power have you gained? Additional mods.. etc.

Thanks

I had STS TT in my ZO6 the car made 557rwhp 530rwtq 9psi 701rwhp 669rwtq 16psi.

I liked the sound and the power and the fact the turbos were always cold.
I didnt like the oil return system and it was a little laggy and the car always eating some oil.

GOOD LUCK.

Sorry to hijack, but I'm really curious how you like the Hinson setup.... I've checked out some threads about it.. not bad, but since you've got 1st hand experience...

Were these problems what made you switch to front-mount? I've heard some companies will rework their oil return system to revamp it and make it more reliable

I'm also considering an A&A system. People seem to be blowing that company up lately

I'd love input on this as well, I'm considering a procharger or a STS for an 04 Z06... how much boost is "safe" in the LS6s?

Definately look into the new Turbo Technology TTI X kit with the new billet turbos. They're on sale for 9k!

No belts to worry about either.

When you figure in that you dont need to buy $1100 headers it makes the price even that much better

Call Nick or George @ TTI 253.475.8319

Coming from a prior STS owner. The kits are a good idea but need some reworking on all aspects. Mine was on an F-body so it was a little more work to deal with. IN my experience, the kits from STS themselves, the pipe routing is very generic. Your best bet is to get someone to mandrel bend the piping custom. Run a FMIC, and Meth. You could do 7-8 psi safely with that combo.

I have the sts kit on my car now and had the A&A vortech kit before. The sts kit sounds good and makes good power. I had oil return problems within a few months. I upgraded to the two oil return pumps and have had no problems since. The kit should come with the two pump setup from the start. I upgraded my turbos when I grenaded one at the track. My pump quit during a pass blew the seals out and it turned ugly by the time I could let out. I spent 6500 on the kit, 2250 on new borg warner turbos, 800 gz vacuum pump, 850 for dual oil return pump setup, 320 for 60lb injectors = 10720

The A&A kit was great. Zero problems, quality product, and outstanding customer service. It cost 5500 and I spent 400 bucks having it tuned = 6100

If I had it to do all over again. I would have kept my A&A kit and forged the shortblock and saved alot of time, money, and headache. The other option would be the ttix kit. I have seen it in action and it is sweet.
