Default c6 zo6 supercharger?

Hello again.....is it a bad idea to put a blower on a car w a bigger cam shaft and not a "blower cam" if I put some better pistons in the car. I def want to go with. A screw type blower. I have an lg x4 cam in it now, not planning on running a lot of boost I just don't wanna destroy my motor........input please!

the problem with the ls7 is that you really need to change the rods as well, this requires alot of heavy metal put in the crank for it to balance correctly.depending on the exact specs of the cam it may work in a s/c application, but if you want the most from it you really shoud put in a custom blower cam

Yeah I had planned on piston and rods as well....that's a wise move running any boost on that motor anyways....

Wouldnt the stock motor handle 8# of boost? If not sounds like you would have to spend a fair amount of bucks just to add a supercharger. I was planning on adding one to mine maybe by next summer but I didnt want to go in the engine.

From what I gather its either one or the other. (blower or motor) I just wanna hit over 700 rwhp...I'm just wondering if I will be able to add a charger to a higher compression motor if I stiffen up the bottom end with a rotating assembly....

Ok, let me break this down in simple terms.

The stock rods are nice pieces. If your looking for 700 to the tire, you should have no problem getting there. If your doing a budget build, I suggest you keep the stock rods, add arp 2000 rod bolts, find a diamond or wiesco forge piston that weights in grams similiar to the malhe stock cast piston that way all you would have to do it drill the crank to balance and dont worry about adding the heavy metals to it. It's already been done many times. Now if you go to a forge rod, then you will run into problems with the ls7 crank. You will have to add a lot of metals to balance, so much it would be worth it to by a crank for a bit more. It all depends on what you wanna do. Look in my profile and you will see what I did on a stock bottom but I would not recommend it. It was tuned down and timing was pulled since we all know that the ls7 has some serious compression as it was not built for a blower application.. Just my .02
