What year is best?
I've been told to get a 2008 and above Z06 due to the newer tranny, which is supposed to be stronger, etc. I do not know about this, but of course the newer and lesser the mileage the better. I've seen some low mileage 06's for 45k and the 08's go for in between 50 to 55k for a low miles too, the 09's are out of my budget. What do you guys think?

They are ALL good.... but, since you asked...
The '08+ tranny (6060) is notchy and sometimes difficult (common complaints) until the gearbox has been warmed up.
The dry sump oil tank is better on the '09+ cars. (you can swap one into an earlier year) -It has to do with sustained 1+g's on a track. Normal street/track driving is fine.
There was a (supposed) run of bad rocker arms (needle bearing failures) on a span of months in '07ish? I forgot the exact dates, look for the sticky on corvette forum. (Just change the springs for peace of mind)
Get the best price/condition/color and be glad you own a living legend. The 427 engine isn't going to be around forever and it most likely wont be back anytime soon.
