Trade my ZO6 for CTS-V
I am contimplating trading my 2009 ZO6 for a new CTS-V. I live near Fort Worth and really cant ever drive the Z to have any fun with it. It is my 3rd Vette and the new is worn off I guess. My wife wont drive it because it is a manual and she dont like driving it in all the traffic. The Cadillac would get driven alot more.
I guess I am asking for downsides?

Wow DG all the trouble you went thru to get your Z and now considering parting with it? If your wife won't drive it then so what. That way when something goes wrong with it you'll know it was you LOL. I'm not cool with the idea of multiple drivers in a high performance car. You bought it, you should be driving it. Buy her an auto and you stay out of it. LOL.
Just busting your ***** man. A little disappointed to read about you wanting to get rid of it. I read all your pre purchase threads you seemed sold as this is the end all be all car for you. Now you want a Caddy. Whatever makes you happy and keeps the wife from bitching I guess. Good luck on your decision.

Doug you are right, the problem is I traded her 08 coupe that was an auto for this car (She did give me her blessing) now she wont drive it. She told me she would and so now I kinda feel guilty.
BADZ-I have been looking at some higher end used cars as well, I was offered 60 for a Turbo Porsche Sienna or something like that, it was a low mileage 08 model. Also looking at a E63 mercedies 09 model. Kinda feel like I am throwing money away as the Vette had a MSRP of over 80k and I got 10k off that and still about upsidedown!

The CTS-v is a 6 speed manual, IMHO you would be trading down. You will kick yourself in the butt if you get rid of the car
Just train her how to drive a manual. That will save you alot of money and frustration. Besides with all the torque of the Z06 it will be a great car for her to learn on, will be really hard to kill the engine.

Doug that is one reason as well of getting rid of it. She will be going back to work soon so it will be her daily commuter. We are drying up here as well!
My wife can drive the heck out a standard, We used to take her 97 Cobra to the race track and she could get a better time out of it than I could.
Most CTS-Vs sold are automatics.

Not sure what the problem is here. I would be enjoying the hell out of the car and wouldn't feel the least bit guilty.

I'd take a CTS-V over a new z06 if I could only have one. More power to begin with, easy to mod, nicer interior, room for everyone, a nice trunk. If I just wanted a race car, the z06 would be it, but that's about it. CTS-V is a miss daisy car? Is that because it has more power than your trans am?
Do some of the people here not know the CTS-V was available in both manual and automatic? Seems like you would at least know the basics before you give your opinion. Some of you guys might like talking out your asses more, who knows?

I don't give a flying **** if a cts v has more power than my car, my car has looks, and tradition along with the Z06, and yes I know it can have an auto or 6 speed.

actually not really, and you should know that. Two totally different cars.
I did a quick search for what types of transmissions come with the Cts-v's and had come across as them only having manuals. So that is my bad for the 5 seconds of research I did on the car.
I am not saying there is nothing bad with the CTS-v, great car but nowhere in the ballpark of a what a Z06 is.
