Default Possiable twin turbo v6 corvette

http://www.lsxtv.com/forum/corvette-...60th-2996.html

So i just read this and wanted to see what everyone else thought about it. Me personally i dont really like the idea i think its good that gm is trying to move foward but i do believe they can make the lsx platform more efficient. With todays technology like direct injection and vvt i dont see why they cant make a v8 that has lower emissions and get good mpgs. A 505hp 427 zo6 can get upwards of 30 mpg on the highway so to me thats pretty dam good, how many other cars that are that fast can do that. So maybe if they but some more time into the lsx v8 engine and design a new automatic transmission like the gtr and porsches have they could hit the mpg and emssions goals. I just wouldnt want to buy a corvette without a v8 and dont really care how fast the v6 tt could be but thats just me. So what do you think?

About them time GM starts modernizing their motors.

Finally trying to catch up with the imports instead of toying with old *** pushrod motors.

If they make this vette i will buy it.

DOHC>OHV and turbo>N/A

these old *** pushrod motors make more power than dohc so im a little confused on you statement.there cheaper to mod, lighter, smaller, cheaper, and make more power than dohc motors.now id like to see a tt lsx in a vette

ohc engines are just as old as pushrods motors so they are not exactly new tech.

Actually i think OHC motors are like 4 years OLDER then pushrod motors, but either way they are both equally old and both have there advantages and disadvantages.

Im sure the corvette will stay true to GMs formula for it though.

While they are all those things, they are also apparent not nearly as efficient when it comes to emissions and whatnot... Personally I think Corvettes should be V8 only, but maybe they could do a special 60th anniversary edition with the TT V6 and a Powerglide behind it as a throwback

NFW I'd even consider buying a V6 Corvette, I don't care how much power it makes! The Gen III and IV pushrod motors make great power and are very fuel efficient and if GM starts putting direct injection set-ups on them they will be even better, so why bother with DOHC set-ups that just add more moving parts and need more maintenance once the miles start adding up.
Yea I'm and old school old fart and I'll keep my pushrod motor thank you!
