C7 - 2014 Corvette - drawing :(
Here's the much anticipated next generation of Corvette that's set to be unveiled 14 months from now at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show

I actually really like this and I’m glad they didn’t do the split window also. This seems to follow some of the same lines as the Caddy CTS which I also like. Seems to be the angular look of the C6 taken to the next level. I also like the quarter window and flat rear glass, not sure how that will work for visibility, but style wise it’s gets a thumbs up from me.

I’m wondering if the 6.2 is going to have the rumored direct injection. I’m guessing with variable valve timing and direct injection the 6.2 V8 should be good for as much as 475 right out of the box. Imagine what it will be like with a performance tune. A well tuned C7 could be as potent as a base C6 Z06. So, that makes me wonder what the C7 ZR1 and Z06 will have between the front fenders.

The guys on corvetteforum are having a field day with these renderings. 80-90% hate it, probably. I think the profile is great, but the vents in the hood and on the quarters look so tacky and I hate the GTR-like turn-signal lamps. The worst part though is the awful rear end and tacked on spoiler. The tail ights are plain hideous; and this car is just too busy in general. I'd like to see the car from a head-on shot to evaluate it further if this is indeed the next vette.

I like it.
I'd want to see it in person first though. I'd also like to know what, if any, handling and performance statistics will change for the car.
I heard some time ago that GM had decided ith the C7 and on to "exclusiveize" the corvette, starting it in the 70-80k price range and offering z cars in the 100k range.

its like a 599, GTR, ZR1, and a Camaro had a orgy and this is what the end result was.
all in all pretty good outcome IMO.
EDIT: i guess that there is a little S7 in there as well.
