Default whats it take to get a c5 m6 into the high twelves?

my brother purchased a 98 c5 with a six speed with about 60,000 miles on it. he just put a vararm intake and a billy boat cat back exhaust on it. what should the car run in the 1/4 mile the way it is, e.t. & mph? and what would be the next suggested mods to get it into the high 12 second range? the tracks around here wont be open for a couple months yet. thanks.

Sticky tires and a decent driver.

+1 for drag radials.

If he has traction now and the car runs well, it should be about there as is. New drag radials should ensure it.

He'll probably need tires but if he can really drive and has a good day weather and track wise he may be able to pull it off as it. I ran a 12.7 with the mods in my sig on a barely negative da day with street tires.

Not hard to do at all! I had kooks longtubes, off road X pipe, slp loud mouth, and full vararm CAI, tune, and old drag radials and went a 12.5 with a 2.XX 60ft really sucked but it was the first time I ran a vette at the strip.

Yes, and it has definitely been done on a few occasions too.
The record ET for a pure bone stock C5 LS1 manual is a 12.6 at roughly 111mph in good air with a good driver.
A Vararam and cat back can only improve on those capabilities, drag radials even more so.

I concur. I've got a Callaway Honker, LS6 intake, LG Pro Long Tubes with Ti exhaust and ran a 12.8 on barely legal street tires (Nitto 555RII's). This was with temps and humidity in the 90's. Oh, and I don't even drag race - I road race! It's not that hard to get into the high 12's if you're a descent driver.

I ran a 12.8 @ 112 with headers and factory cat back, granny launch on street tires.
