Default What 3 inch mufflers are out there for c5's

Me and a buddy of mine are putting LT's and a 3" x-pipe on his vette and we are looking around for 3" exhaust and are not finding very many options. We have found Stainless Works, B&B, and LG. Are there any more out there besides those 3?

Nope, that's about all I came across during my search. I ended up getting a 3" x 2.5" X pipe so I could mate a set of GHL bullets to it. I wasn't big on the sound of any of the 3" options, and they're all 4-tip.

You could always have an exhaust shop fab up a 3" option for you too, and you should be able to purchase most mufflers separately from kits if there's a particular sound you're after.

I run the LG Big 3. Nice exhaust after you replace the clamps. What I like most is that the difference between cutouts open and closed is about 2RWHP. I'm ditching the cutouts.

I've had LG & SW. The tubing gauge with the SW is thicker, could not get the LG to clamp & stay in place with the trans brace.

As a side note, I had the car dyno'd after I picked from the original installer. 20 hp discrepancy, I've often wondered if it is dyno calibration or the Cat backs.

That's what my buddy wants to put on the car. I like Corsa personally but they don't make a 3" system. I might see about getting something made, but with that I would need to find a muffler with an in and out on the same side or find a real good exhaust guy.

I used a VERY good custom exhaust guy to install mine. It's close with the tranny brace but doesn't touch. He tacked it a few places to keep it in place. It does have some drone but with an M12 it's easy to drive around. That plus I very seldomly drive the car with the top up.

Vibrant Performance bullet mufflers to me, are the brightest idea and muffler technology.

3" (ones in link above are 3.5') B&B bullet setups, use vibrant bullet mufflers.

Yeah I knew those were out there but I'm trying to have a little refinement with the car. I don't want it sounding like stock but I also don't want it sounding like open pipe either.

How's this sound? Skip to about a minute in. This is the 2.5" GHL's.

That sounds real good but this ain't my car and my buddy wants to keep it 3 inch all the way out. He wants the LG's. The car had no mufflers before but it did have cats. He wants to listen to it with no mufflers. I told him you don't have any cats anymore and its going to be loud and obnoxious. He's persistent and its not my car so he will just have to find out himself with the no mufflers thing

I found that Spintech makes an in and out muffler on the same end in 3 and 3 1/2 inch. They are 159 a piece too.

I just got a tip that a company called XSpower makes a 3 inch catback in polished stainless and it sounds like Corsa but costs 400 bucks less. I showed them to my buddy and he saw the thread in the FI section of Rob Raymer's rear mount oiless turbo c5 making 810 rwhp on a stock motor and now he wants to turbo it.

Word.

Safety in numbers. Add a few, inline. Plenty of room, no restriction. We've done in on a few exhaust systems. You should look into magnaflow bullet round mufflers. 18-24" would be a pretty docile sounding bullet. I'd do straight C6 style exhaust but, a friend mocked the borla catback but used magnaflow bullets, and it doesn't sound to loud at all. More packing obviously.
