Default c5 rearend

I just bought a supercharged zo6. The car pits 693 to the wheels. I want to run it at the track with DRs. I still have stock suspention and rear end. If I put c6 internals in my c5 diff will it hold? Another option is to just buy a whole new diff. I am new to the corvette world. what would be some good co. to buy suspention parts and a strong diff?

Thanks

With 690 rwhp you will need more than C6 internals. I would suggest a C6 Z06 diff with hardened output shafts at the very least.

Your stock C5 diff will not last long if you try to launch it with a manual transmission and drag radials. Depending on how hard you launch, it might break instantly. My suggestion is to call RPM transmissions 1-800-406-1109 and discuss it with them. A C6 Z06 diff is far stronger than the C5 diff but it requires other modifications to your car such as C6 rear cradle, adapter plate, etc. You might be able to live with a highly modified C5 diff as some have but only time will tell. Good luck.

There's people selling T6060 + C6Z06 setups for ~$5k on cf.com. The ZR1 rearend is even more strong but the C6Z06 should hold up fine until you hit 4 digits.

also I know that DRs are hard on your drivetrain. how much would running slicks at the track and DRs on the street help?

It's version 2 of the T56 they started to use in 2008. If you want to make uber-power you will need one. All of the mods to the T56 really don't strengthen it, just make it easier to shift and not ruin it. The T6060 actually has beefier gears + stronger case.

Drag radials tend to shake (wheel hop) easier than slicks which is what causes drivetrain breakage. Slicks at the track and radials on the street would be a nice set up.
