Default ABS/Active handling light is on in my C5Z... got a couple questions? got a C1214 code

So my 2001 Z06 has the ABS and traction control lights on. Sometimes they are on when I drive the car, and other times they stay off.

My friend hooked his fancy schmancy Snap On scanner to the car(the cel wasn't on btw) and the following code was being thrown:

C1214
Solenoid valve relay or coil circuit open

Is this a common thing that happens in c5 corvettes? and is there any easy fix as to what it more than likely is?

We checked the connections and there was no corrosion, checked the fuse and its good. Where should I go from here?

has anyone else experienced this problem

C5's have a common issue with their ECBM's which isn't made anymore. Good news is that the 01+ models had a fixable one, whereas the earlier models are not fixable. They are getting a little pricey now. Search around on corvetteforum. There is a bunch of info on there about them.

Mine did that before it went out, and then went out permanently. I like it better without it personally.

It's either the ECBM as listed or one of the 8-9 grounds on the car isn't good.

Go check out absfixer.com

You don't need a fancy scanner for the vetted. You can pull the codes and read them on the DIC.

I've experienced the same problem for a couple months now. Active Handling light comes on once in a while but not often. Usually comes on when I'm driving. I can pull over, shut the car off, turn it back on and the light usually will be gone and everything is back to kosher. Idk, I haven't looked into it yet but it's not that big of a problem right now.

Yes grounds are another common problem with gremlins like that. When ECBM went out, it was done in a couple days.

I had the same abs codes years ago. I sent the module to absfixer, still had the problem. I redid the power and ground wires, still had the problem. Ended up my abs motor went bad, so I haven't had abs or active handling for 2 years
