Default ECTA standing mile event. 7 new records!

With the help of Erik at Back Street Performance in Medina Ohio, we took 7 new records. We now have the top 4 displacement classes in two catagories. C,B,A,AA/GT and C,B,A,AA/GSS. Fastest speed achieved was 179.06. My '02 C5z is full interior with cage, seats, fire supression, safety stuff. Engine makes 450/400 with TEA ported heads and EPS 226. Typical drag times on 200 treadwear RT-615's are 11.80's at 123; so I picked up 56mph over the rest of the mile. If you haven't tried it before, it's a pretty good time. Safety is strict and we're lucky to get in 6 runs per day; but it's worth it to run it all the way out!

Nice results! Don't forget Rick in the other black hardtop, first LS based stock long/shortblock to go over 200mph in any sanctioned race. I just wish I would of had more time in my Pewter crapbox before the event.

briannutter, I don't have any pics of your car. Did you just run on Sunday? Those speeds are truely awesome for your power levels.

Hey Joey, yep I always see your car out there and it's very impressive. Yeah, I'm kind of surprised by how well my car "runs" for only making 450 at the wheels. It's got a nice torque spread though and the gearing is just about perfect I think. My only run on Saturday was the 2nd car of the day and there was a timing problem. I think the rest of my runs were Sunday.

My car is the one on the right. Rick's is on the left.

I don't have a weatherstation or anything like that, but it was in the 60's if I remember right. Sunny and a bit windy. Side gusts mostly, but we may have been running into the wind a bit too. Joey may have more accurate info.

Yeah I saw you run a 175.xx or 176.xx once while i was in line talking to Rick and some others. Weather Sunday, when racing was going on, was a 12mph West (passenger side) wind at the finish and 8-10NW (tail and pass side) at the starting line. mid 60's temperature and mid 16xx' DA.

Anymore info on the car on the left? pics? Looks like it's on a mission.
