Default Looking at trading vette for gto...ideas?

Ok I am looking at trading my vette in for a modded gto. The gto is here on the forums. It is supercharged andmodded very tastefully. What do you think I should do? He wants totrade for my car plus a li' cash for his. Im pushing a lil over 400 whp. And he prolly has about 450 at teh wheels on a goodtune.

Its your call, but I would always prefer the vette over another LS car. I would hate to get rid of my Z06.

I wouldn't trade a vette for a cavagtolier. Vettes are so much easier on the eyes.

so he's only got 50 more rwhp than you. if you were to race him from a roll you guys would probably be even cause they weigh so much. 450rwhp for a supercharged gto is not that great.
ur call...just my opinion

I could almost guaruntee that you would hang if not pull him from a dig or roll. He only has 50more whp and he is boosted. You do realize how heavy those things are right? Last time I checked the scales it was a difference of nearly 500ish lbs.

Oh and chicks won't dig the GTO. Vette = the win.

The GTO-bashing in here needs to come to an end unless all of your asses get whipped by my car in an imaginary e-race.

LOL... I was waiting for someone to jump in and save the GTO...

I wont' lie i'm not a big fan of the GTO but to each his own... The GTO is more practical. Rear seats... but if you aren't towing kids around I'd say the vette.. Personally i think the vette looks better, and with only a 50rwhp difference I think you will find you will run right with the GTO if not pull on it... I guess there are other factors we dont' see.. mileage on both you and the GTO... bluebook.. family situation.. goals for your performance vechile... etc. etc...

One thing everyone is kinda over looking is you can probably get a new pulley for little investment and up your boost and net more than 50RWHP difference, this is more stressful on you motor but eh.. your going faster.

^^^ Or just spray the Vette. *shrug*

Wasn't trying to bash the GTO but if someone put a gun to your head would you really choose the Goat over a Vette?

Trading a Vette for a GTO is an down grade in my book and most others as well..

Id rather drive a 1997 bone stock 300 rwhp C5 than a 2006 modded GTO with 400 rwhp.

Visually and financially there not even in the same league. The C5 did nonthing but honor previous Corvettes with many wins at Lamann's as well as being the best selling premium ( premium means over 40 grand)sports car for most of it's producion run in America.

the GTO was exactly the opposite. Most people found that the styling insulted the GTO's of past and the car did not sell strongly. ( it wasnt ment to be a 3 model year run) despite what the GTO loyalist say..If the GTO was a strong seller like the C5 continues to be. There would be a 2007 GTO.

DONT DOWN GRADE!!!!!!

just look at the pic of the black and siver vettes posted above. they are just stock looking vettes.

But that stock looking black vette on the road course ot the frontal pic of the silver vette looks better than any picture of a stock-modded GTO Ive ever seen

I definetly wouldn't do the trade, however, the interior on the GTO is 10x nicer than the Corvette.

Just thow on a 50 shot and add 500#s and you're there. Of course, you'd still have to put up with those folks to stop you in parking lots to tell you what a cool car you have. What a pain... lol
