Default Front Wheel Hub?

Has anyone replaced one? If so how difficult was it and can I use any ball joint separator or do I need to use the specific tool mentioned in the manual?

If you use a wedge style (pickle fork) to separate the ball joint you will ruin the rubber boot. Check with your local auto store & see if they loan tools. I know Auto Zone does. I was in Auto Zone today and they had a picture of all the tools they loan on the counter. I believe O-Reilly does also. I think you pay for the tool (in case you keep it) and they give your money back when you return the tool. They should have a ball joint separator that will not damage the boot.

I have not done one but if you have the factory manual it should guide you. If you don't have one let me know. I have an 02 manual I could fax the pages to you. I imagine it would be the same as your 01.
