Default What Roll bars are there for Vettes?

In the past few years I have bought Firebirds and Camaros. I want to add a roll bar to my coupe but don't know where to look. Can anyone help me?

Thanks,
JC

Default Any help on a roll bar for C6 Coupe?

Hey guys, someone surely knows where I can find a roll bar kit for my 2005 Corvette coupe? I know I can have a shop fab one with a standard kit, but I was hoping to find one that can be bought, prebent, even painted except for base plates where they need to be welded.

I guess I should also check the rule for drag racing too. Not that I ever expect to get in the 11s, but I can always dream

I would get a custom cage built for your car man. In my opinion, it's the only way to get a perfect OEM style fit. Find a good local shop...and have at it.

I'm running a 5-point rollbar made by Wolfe Racecraft out of Texas.

Running a 6 point Chrome moly also from Wolfe. It's nice, but the rear hoop goes right through the middle of my rear view mirror. Probably from my install. Other than that, it's good.

I teamed up with a builder and will be marketing them soon. The first run will be 6 pt cages for C5 Coupes and if you are local you will have the option of getting it installed. If not, a prebent and nothched setup can be shipped. I am also looking into seeing if I can ship a mostly built cage where the rear half is already welded together. That way, I can also offer a powdercoating option. Not sure if I can ship a box that big though. I should find out about that option in the next couple of days. After I have some other local installs I will be able to offer the cage for more cars. All of the cages will be weld in so you will either have to know how to weld or have a welder lined up. I don't believe in the bolt ins. They may be good enough to get you on the track but as far as safety.....I'm not taking the chance. I'll post some pics this weekend when I finish reassembling the car.

Default Hey sounds great but....

I have a 2005 C6. I may just contact Competition Engineering and buy a kit.

My brother is a heck of a builder, he got all the talent and patience. He has two airplanes and a 71 Chevelle right now he is building. Getting his time is the problem. If I go help him for a week I know he'd be happy to do it.

I wish there was a way to powder coat the dang things and then put them in the C6 coupe. You could with a Convertible, but a coupe just isn't possible.

You may be able to buy pulling the targa top off. We built the entire back half of my cage and was able to get it in and out of the car (C5). Before final welding I had it powdercoated. I'll have some pics tomorrow. My door bars will be powdercoated today and we will be done.

I'm also looking for a rollbar for my 03 Vert. I looked at the Wolfe bars but was hoping I could find something that fits a little better, I live 20 minutes from Chassis Engineering I will contact them for a 6 point weld in cage, the only problem I see would be the floor mounting plates that attch to the main hoop looks like it will be a pain to bend them up. If you guys come up with something good let me know.
Update: they will bend anything I want 6 point for $385.00 Chromoly 1 3/4 .083 wall, need to get the tape out and also figure out floor plates. Takeout side bar kit.$44.00 This is of course with me doing all the welding.

Default Roll bar for C6 Vette

That sounds like a really good deal. I like their products but frankly, I can't weld for $#!+. I suppose I could do it, and then grind the heck out of it to make it look right. But, I would not be comortable with the strength which is why I want the darn thing, for safety.

Let me know when you get yours done and post some pics.

I have the Wolfe bolt in and think it's fine. One more thing to consider is resale of the car. I wanted to be able to put car back to stock someday, not to easy with a weld in. The Wolfe is NHRA approved, so it has to be fine safety wise. I also think it fits great, it hugs the contour of the car great.

I'm not doing the kits yet but am doing local installs. Here are the finished pics on mine. These are only weld in. A lot of people like the bolt in, and yes, technically they are NHRA legal, however, the fiberglass it bolts to in the back is about 1/8" thick so bolt in is not an option for me. The rest of the floor pan is not much thicker. This would not be that big of a problem if it were a normal metal pan like most cars but the Vette pan is plastic.
