Default looking for opinions

i have recently sold my last project and i am looking into the 03-04 c5's
i really seemed to like the standard c5 seats more than the z06, i am wondering if its all in my head lol.
my question is this................if you were in the market for one and were going to change the heads and cam would you spend the extra $ on the z06 or would you just get the standard c5

the car will mostly just be a cruiser, but will see a few road coarse days, and more than a few strip "test" passes but no class racing.

thanks for any imput in advance

Get the c5 and use the extra $$ you could have gotten the Z06 for and put it into the C5 and be way faster. Z06 is still a badass car but not worth the extra 7+ k (depending on the yr). Get a 01 or up C5

Yea, I did notice a difference with the 2000 c5 vs my o2Z in the seats, but the rigidity of the car is VERY noticeable

Either way, you will LOVE the car!

If you're comparing apples to apples (03-04 base models Vs. Z06's), same mileage, there's no way you're going to consistantly find them $7K difference! In many cases, the base or vert C5's are more expensive! Get the Z and never look back. If the seats are a big deal, buy some base C5 seats and swap. The power and handling out of the box for the C5Z06's are incredible! Good luck with your decision.

Are you looking for a removeable roof? If so then it is the c5, if not then take the z06 and don't look back. The roof is the only reason I went w/ a c5 instead of the z06.

Drive a C5 and a Z06. Night and day difference.

The Z06 is a very nice car, however if you are going to mod it heavily then I would go with a coupe or FRC. Is there a big difference between a coupe with the base suspension and runcraps vs the Z06? Yes. Is there a big difference between a Z51 coupe with good tires and a Z06? Not at all. If you can feel the 1-2Hz difference in chassis stiffness you are a better man than I. Hell the vert is pretty impressive even without a roof. Comparing my car and my friends '03 Z06 I would say my coupe has less body roll and rides stiffer. If my intentions were to just put a cam and headers on the car and call it good then the Z06 would be my first choice. Anything more than that you'll be further ahead with a coupe.
