Default what to expect with a 402 and nitrous

Please dont flame me, ive searched but i have found to many answers. I currently have a C6 making a little over 500rwhp, on the stock block, AFR 225's, comp cam 283..something. My next step was going to be a built bottem end. I was looking at a few, but the best deal or combination i found is a 402 shortblock http://texas-speed.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=684&catid=3
about 4200.00, im going to use my heads and cam on this block. My compression right now is 11;0.1. What kind of power NA should i be expecting, and what kind of power on the bottle do you think it will make, i was thinking just a 150 shot for now, untill i learn how to drive the car on the hose. Also i am having LG do the work does 7,999.00 sound right for a 402, switching everythng from my old motor too the 402, nitrous install (tnt kit F2) and tune...

thanx in advance

You might want to upgrade the short block if you're going to be spraying hard (pistons/rings). Bigger cubes doesn't mean lots of xtra hp, but lots of xtra tq. Nitrous means lots of xtra crazy torque. You can expect no traction and about 520rwhp/480ftlbs motor, 650rwhp/630ftlbs on the bottle, of course these are just ballpark, all combos run differently. You will probably have to pull some timing n/a to spray, so you might not even hit 520 motor only with the new tune.

Your cam is probably a 238/242...not a 283 something. Still decent cam for a 402. Could go bigger if you wanted. Price isn't bad including a short block. I know shops that will do a motor swap for $1500, so with short block right at $6000, $1500 for good, clean nitrous install (including kit with all the goodies), $400 for tune, and you're right there.

LG already has a similar beast they did (with 300 shot dual stage) and 408 iron block putting down over 700rwhp, so they can fix you up.

Sounds close to what Bobby was telling me to do a 402 back when I thought the 346 was shot.

thats a nice car, i live in frisco. Did 21st Do your car?? They did my work, and im very happy with the car, extremely happy.

My next issue i know was going to be traction, i can hook up pretty good on the stock tires making 505/441, but i know when i up the torque its gonna wanna be going sideways. theres no 19' DR, i was thinking about 18's all around with some DR's any recommendations on the offset, tires sizes
was thinking about these

I have an MTI 402 and NX 150 shot on my car. I think it's got a mild cam and heads. Although I didn't get the dyno numbesr after the timming was pulled, I put down 619rwhp/625 ft lb on one pull and 614rwhp/635 ft lb another pull. I hope this helps.

Yep, 21st did mine. I live in Plano/Frisco as well.

I can't believe your hooking on stock tires. I didn't want to run DRs on the street, so I have 11" rims on the back with a 305 (C5 offsets). You can tuck a 325 under the rear on an 11" rim with the right offset (CCW has it down pat).

Mine is a daily driver, so I kept street tires. If you want a good street tire on the 19" rim, Michelin PS2 is the way to go. You can get 295s for stock wheels. Buddy of mine runs a LPE 427 with stock wheels and Mich PS2s and hooks pretty good.

Shoot me a PM if you want some other options for the setup.

Sounds real good, especially considering a lot of people (stupidly) bitch about their prices. I wish I could afford to send him my car. You'll be in good hands.

LG Motorsports is a good place to go for all your performance needs. I would love to go with a turbo'd or supercharged 402. Probably supercharged so that I don't have to get rid of my Pro Longtubes. I have spent a lot of Money at LG Motorsports and I know I will get a good deal on my next project I have them do for me.

I'm doing a iron 408 fully forged for a 300 shot, basic short block was/is $3900 from LME. Going for an easy 700rwhp and 700/800rwtq, I did get 665rwtq on my stock longblock before a ringland let go. I'll copy my thread from the nitrous section over to here, you may get some insight or ideas, good luck.
