Default Purchasing a 2007 Z06 $1K over invoice??

I am new to the Corvette scene but have been looking at the new Z06's since they came out. I came across a deal with a dealer that is willing to sell me a brand new (410miles) never titled 07 Z06 for a grand over invoice. Now, I know everyone is at LEAST paying sticker for these and anything under sticker is unheard of let alone a grand over invoice. So, my question, does anyone have any suggestions what I should be looking for? I already went and looked at the car and drove it and it seemed fine but this sounds fishy to me.

That is a hell of a deal. $3000 off sticker is generally as good a deal as I've seen.

Buy it and have fun. It comes with GMs 5yr 100,000 mile powertrain warranty right. I wish I was in the market for a car, I'd buy it. I don't suppose you want to tell us where the car is do you?? If you let that secret out there would be a rush of people from here trading in and trading up. Go buy the car, it sounds like a gift from heaven. Can you take a few pics and post them???

Yes, it has the 3/36 and the 5/100k on the drivetrain. I really cant think of a reason that there is anyting wrong with the deal, but since I have not owned a Vette before, I get a little leary. The dealer told me the car was a backup showcar for GM. He said they took this Z06 with them as a backup in case the primary Z06 had issues or something happened to it. Does that sound legit?? Even though I have a deposit down on the car, I do not want to leak where its at because just as you said, people will be after it I will post where I got it and pics once I bring it home on Wed

Looking fwd to Wednesday. Get a CAI and a tune. That shouldn't mess with your warranty at all.

That seems like a great deal. If the car hasn't been titled and they did not disclose any damages to you there is Nothing to worry about. I sold cars for about a year and a half and the dealer HAS to show you pictures of and disclose any damages to any car being sold as new.

As for the show car, I am not sure about that but it is possible. We would sometimes get a chance to get specialty cars like that when I was selling.

I paid 2k under sticker for my 07 Orange and thought that was a hell of a deal. ****** that baby up and you will be happy.

Well, I guess by what you all have said, this isnt something I should walk away from. It is a dealer and there is no title yet, so I dont know what else to worry over, besides the amount of cash Ill have to shell out

everything looked like a true Z06 but it just didnt feel like it had that much get up and go to it. I dunno.....

LOL! I know it sounds insane, maybe I am just to hard to please or something. I guess I just expected a lot more "Through you back in the seat" when I stomped on it. I am not sure what gears they come with stock, but it seems like it took to long to wind out first. I expected more snap off the line. Thats what is making me concerned about why they are letting it go so cheap. I have never driven another Z06 before, so I dont know what to compare it with.

So go test drive another c6 zo6 at a different dealership. If I remember correctly they put a tall enough gear in the new c6 z to hit 60 mph without having to shift, hence the amazing 0-60 times.

Well, it might not feel as fast if it was 90 degrees outside and the engine was nice and hot... But when it is cold, the car is sick as hell..

I suggest you pick that sucker up quick before somebody else takes it. if that car was posted 2 years ago at that price, it would be gone in a Ms

Actually, it was 89 degrees the day I drove it. I had the AC kicking it in because it was to darn hot. As far as driving another Z06, the dealers around here wont even let you get in one. So $66,195 is a deal that I should not walk away from then, huh?

Its funny how some people think if they find a new C6 ZO6 at or sticker they are getting a good deal! Dealers are finding it harder and harder to sell these cars when they mark them the hell up HAHAHA!
