Default New Crystal Red Color

We got some of the new Crystal Red cars in last week. I just thought that you might want to check it out. What do you think. It sure looks a lot like the old Magnetic Red Metallic that was around for a few years.

That is an ugly combo. Crystal red with a black dash and the tan seats just clash like a gay mans outfit.

My dad gets his in mid September, but he has the charcoal interior. That tan color does look crappy. I don't think that picture does the color justice.

No matter what color the interior is the dash board is always black on all Corvettes. It has been that way for decades. GM in their infinite wisdom says that it reduces glare. Other manufactures build cars with dash boards all kinds if colors with out problems.

It looks a lot like the Spice red for the 2006 GTO. They should have kept the Monterey red.

No hangovers in the paint booth .. I beleive that they are painted with robotics..the car may look in the photo like the door was a different color but in reality it did not appear that way in person..actually it was so bright when the photos were taken that the color is a little washed out and it is actually darker than it apears in the photos..

That is an optional color, right?

Remember back when they first started putting body colored bumpers on the Vette's & owners complained the colors didn't match ?
Well , now just look at the paint color on the rear bumper cover & the drivers door .

Pictures taken in direct sunlight and posted on the internet aren't exactly the best way to judge a car's paintjob.......

The color looks okay...but seriously, haven't we been through this already with Mag Red 1 and 2 etc? Lets get something new here

I love Jet Stream Blue...but would probably never buy it. I wish they had like a machine grey, or Spiral Gray like in 03-04

It's just the lighting, I'm sure it does not look like that in real life. I've seen a lot of pictures of cars where that happens, because of the angle of the lighting, but in real life the paint matches perfectly. There is amazing quality control on the C6, if something like that managed to make it off the end of the assembly line (and it probably wouldn't) then it would be found in the QC stage.

As far as the similarity to Magnetic Red, this new color is a bit darker. There are pictures on the Corvetteforum where a dealer had a Magnetic Red, Crystal Red and Monterey Red all parked side by side and you could clearly see the difference between the three. Crystal Red definitely leans closer to Magnetic Red than it does to Monterey Red, but there is a difference.

Wilson Niblett Chevrolet in Toronto just got a Crystal Red coupe in stock last week, so I'm gonna go check it out sometime this weekend.
