Default 1.606 60ft=11.37@124.04mph--POS vette for sale!

OK so I have rant first as usual. My friend with a 10sec 6spd single turbo supra decides finally take his car down and we've been rivals for about 6years now racing each other. His supra makes 550rwhp on 22lbs of boost and meth. Anyways I run home over lunch change all 4 wheels and get the car ready for the track. Run home after work all cause he's going and the weather according to the weather online is to be in the low 70's by 8pm. WRONGO!!!!!! once again captain wrong/weatherman. However I end up with some new bests, everything is really not making sense right now of the better 60fts (thanks for everyones advice) and not much better in ET though. Heres the passes

60ft-1.675
330ft-4.867
1/8th-7.465
MPH-96.50
1000f-9.696
1/4mi-11.540
MPH-123.93

60ft-1.697
330ft-4.899
1/8th-7.499
MPH-95.55
1000f-9.731
1/4mi-11.576
MPH-123.19

60ft-1.637
330ft-4.797
1/8th-7.394
MPH-95.29
1000f-9.624
1/4mi-11.468
MPH-123.33

60ft-1.675
330ft-4.852
1/8th-7.445
MPH-95.47
1000f-9.678
1/4mi-11.518
MPH-123.75

Best and final pass made at 9:39pm @ 77deg's out, 5-7mph head wind, launched the car at 6,000rpms

60ft-1.606
330ft-4.743
1/8th-7.317
MPH-95.50
1000f-9.542
1/4mi-11.376
MPH-124.04

I was happy to get the car in a much lower 60ft range so I had improvement but I almost got more mad due to I improved my 60ft by a tenth or better and only improved best ET by approx .5 to .8. I'm completely lost at this. I was able to achieve the 60ft I want for right now in warmer air. However the ET did not match the 60ft improvement in my opinion. It should've been approx a 11.25et i think. Oh well I SUCK!!!!!!!
As for the supra he ran 11.04 @129.xx and 11.14@130.xxmph w/ 1.73 and 1.74 60fts. He beat me by .01xx on the one pass running 11.26 and i ran the 11.51. I beat him by doing the old fashioned redlight LMAO by .03xx

At this point in time I'm thinking the 10sec pass will be completely elusive even if I do run the car in colder weather with a 1.5x 60ft range like I hoped. I think the bottle is coming sooner then I though

I ALMOST FORGOT TIRE PRESSURE!!!!!!!! OOOPS!! ROBZ would've killed me for not saying what I did. dropped the tire pressure to 12ps cold-14psi hot, The car started to sway badly at this tire pressure so I couldnt go any lower comfortably and the car kept bogging due to track was hooking nicely this time.
And the DA was approx 1550+ with the a slight headwind.

Launch was approx 6,000rpms and quick release of the clutch and hitting the gas in very quickly to try to reduce the rpms from falling. I"m have a big problem in 1st gear with the tach jumping back and forth and then taking off. Makes it hard to hit the 1-2shift w/o either hitting the rev limiter or short shifting. ANYONE OFFER SOME HELP ON THIS???

Nice runs. Cant help you cause i have a A4. Did you try pressure at 16 psi ?
You can lose 1-2 tenths when swaying ( depending on how bad the sway was ). And you dont want to sway powershifting into 4th !!!!
If your having traction problems with higher tire pressures - try out a cheap mod i started. I removed the front sway bar and used Lakewood 90/10 shocks pn # 40101 and a 2-1/2 - 3 " extention. Cost.. under $100.00
It works.

Do you have a built rear end? Brace or output shafts?

What tires are you on?

With the tire pressure at 16psi the car spins to consistant 1.7 60fts I have the front sway bar off butt the shocks you mention may be something to look into. Thanks for the FYI

Daniel Z06, I have a 4.10 rear with hardened driverside shaft, RPM billet Diff cover and 2 support rods that go to the top of the trans and the DTE trans/diff brace I LIKE HOLDING THINGS TOGHETHER... hopefully knock on wood!

Getting better bro. Would a lower rpm launch yield less tire spin and more hook so you can hit the 1/2 shift clean. What RPMS do you shift into 2nd at ??

My limiter is set at 6800 and I try to grab 2nd at 6700, or as close to 6800 as possible.

Is that a 10 sec capable car at 455 RWHP? I'm at 430 on the spray and I'm praying for 11's.

It is, but everything has to be done close to perfect. In 50* temps I bet it goes 10's if you can hook it. Your mph is a bit down probably due to more traction/headwind and temps.

I agree the headwind temps are factors and yes I think for "MY" car to hit 10s NA is going to take some great temps and perfect driving to make it come together. At this point I just want the weather to cool down and make some things together like bias ply tires, better shifting, find some weight somewhere. I wonder what the hell people like ROBZ's car weighs??????

124 MPH vs. 130 MPH .. He handed you your ***..

Still though, you're running great for a heads/cam 455 rwhp car. I had turbos on the car before I went that fast.

try going to the track on a better weather day and you will have your 10 second run, i did a D/A check and at 6:30 temps where 88.7 deg D/A was +2067 and at 9:30 temps where 84.9 deg and D/A was +1859 if you wait for the cold air to come back you will have your 10 second run, in the winter i have seen the D/A drop as low as -2800ft at cecil county thats like a 75hp shot of nitrous, dont wast your time trying to run record times in the heat

SEAT time, seat time, seatTIme, seat time, SeaT time!
My car is stock weight plus rollbar and a drag package.

For that comment I'm gonna add that I ran 10.96 cam ONLY (full weight plus roll bar) many moons ago with 396rwhp and 364rwtq. lol

So, yes your car is 10 second capable!

So which video do you want to see Bruce!

No doubt it will help but he will also need traction when those tracks get cold. I can't tell you how many times I lost it on cold tracks on great air days.
I run best on cool sunny days in the 50's personally.

This run was CAM only with a broken 3-4 synchro.
The time is 10.97@126.55mph. The caption is wrong.

This video was a cold street night where the track was slick and I lined up with a mustang on slicks and gave a 1second head start. Headwind was about 10mph. Had to steer all the way down.
10.62@130 Heads/Cam stock suspension/stock weight Bruce
