I keep throwing the belt off the engine. I dont run the power steering, on the engine in my 32 ford truck. I was told to try the goodyear gatorback belt. I have a dayco now. We took the truck to the track and it chews up the belt, & spits it off. It also have melted rubber on the water pump pulley. It it apparently getting hot an guming up on the water pump pulley. Thats the smooth side of the belt. Has anyone else had a belt problem?? And how did you fix it.

Definitely sounds like you have at least one pulley out of alignment.
