Mine has it and I'd say it works very well. The 2nd generation offered some improvements, but it's not a huge upgrade. I've been pleased with how it works on my car and I can think of a couple times it probably saved my bacon.

It was introduced on the on the '01's. The main differences I recall are it can be activated while the car is moving and it allows for a little more aggressive driving before kicking in.

I have both generations. My 04 z06 is fun I can get it a little sideways in a corner and countersteer and the AH knows what I am doing and will not over correct. In my 98 coupe if i counter steer the AH thinks I want to go in that direction and will swing the backend around then if I try and countersteer again the backend swings back around. I think this is very dangerous if you like to counersteer when the backend comes around while your in a oversteer condition. Needless to say I either take the AH off or remember not to contersteer when I am driving it hard.

compatition mode keeps active handling on and turns the traction control off. This is good for the drag strip or street driving if you want to do burn outs or spin the tires and not have the cars computer slow you down.
