Default CRAP! So I'm chaning my oil and this is what I find. What is it?

Okay so I am in the middle of changing the oil on my Z, and I get the oil drain plug out, and this is what I find on it.

Sorry for the big pics.

My car has been running GREAT. I just put down 372 whp on the dyno maybe 10 days ago.

I'm so confused.

those needle bearings are probably from rocker arms, and that other piece looks like the valve spring seat or retainer. i wouldn't drive the car until u get it checked out

100% sure that one of your rocker arms have puked it's needle bearings out.

I agree, if it ran fine before don't run it anymore. Otherwise you'll be repairing a lot more than a rocker.

I think your 3 needle bearings and half a valve spring seat short at the moment. Better look at the top end very quickly and don't drive the car.

I had the same thing in my car and changed out all my roller rockers and then realized it was from my stupidity and it was actually parts of my roller pilot bearing that i knocked in and didnt realize it during a clutch install.

Yep, definitely looks like needle bearing from a rocker arm and part of the seat. Time to pull the valve covers and take a look.

How would they have gotten into the oil pan? That doesn't make sense. My roller pilot bearing went out, and the bearings just stayed in there and got ground to dust.

Your oil drains from the top of the engine down.... so.... the needle bearings flowed down the drain holes, pushrod holes, etc until they get all the way to the bottom in the oil pan.... where the magnet catches 'em.

The pilot bearing for your clutch has nowhere to go.... hence it will grind away.

pull the valve covers and inspect the rockers. each rocker has needle bearing on each side, each side has 33.

When I pushed my pilot bearing in they just all fell down through into the oil pan, none of them were knicked up or anything i was surprised myself.

You definitely failed to read the conversation man. I was asking the guy who said he had roller bearings in his OIL from his PILOT BEARING.
