Default Magnum-GTO/Vengeance Racing 06 GTO-9.86@137mph!!!!!

We FINALLY broke into the 9s... After about two months of 10.dohs it happened!!!!! 9.86@137mph!!!! Big congrats goes out to Magnum-GTO for his consistent driving and dedication to the sport... Magnum (Jan) is 71 yrs old and spends almost every weekend at the track. Its absolutely AWESOME to see a 3720lb street car click off a 9 second pass and then see Jan get out of the driver seat

Jans GTO is an EXTREMELY streetable build. With the exception of the big/littles on all four corners it looks/sounds almost 100% stock. Exhaust flows thru a STOCK OE catback until the DMH Dual Electric Cutouts are opened up.

Specs on the car-

2006 GTO A4
Owner- Magnum-GTO

Modifications:

Vengeance Racing 427 LS7 Shortblock
TrickFlow 235cc CNC Cylinder Heads
Vengeance Racing Custom Camshaft
Kooks 1 7/8 Longtubes
OEM Catback/DMH Dual Electric Cutouts
FAST 92mm Ported by Vengeance
All Bolt Ons

TNT Wet Kit with pilled for 200HP
Yank SS3200 Stall (HUGE THANX TO DAVE @ YANK FOR ALL OF HIS HELP GETTING THIS CONVERTER EXACTLY THE WAY WE WANTED IT )
RPM Level VI 4L60E Trans
DSS CV Shafts
Vengeance Racing Mini Tub Kit
HoleShot Wheels
Mickey Thompson DRAG RADIALS
Pedders HARDCORE Suspension Package

Engine Compression-10.8:1
PUMPGAS
3720lbs with Driver

Here is the timeslip from the 9 second run..

Here is a video from a pass a few weeks before. Unfortunately I wasnt at the track to catch the 9.86 run this past weekend. This video shows how mild the GTO really is....

Thanks.....I had to laugh because they classified our car as a "C" class.
After the first pass, they re-classified the car as a "B" AND said we would have to run no faster than 10.00

I think they mis-judged the car pretty badly.

What are the differences in the Hendrix vs. DSS half-shafts that you used to run?

The shafts are 1 3/8" diameter vs the originals at 1 1/8" dia. The CVs
are beefier also. The originals lasted really well...over a year, but
when we snapped a shaft at the LSX Shootout...we opted for the
upgrade.

Yes it's taken awhile to work up enough nerve to go that fast.
