Default New Dominator 2X - 10.36 @ 132 Cam Only

A friend of mine just sent me an e-mail with his results from Cecil, MD last night.

Here's the very interesting combo. L92 with stock heads, stock bottom end with notch pistons, New Dominator 2X cam, GM intake, carb'ed in a 90's vintage fox body stang. Car is right around 2900lbs less driver. TH350 with a Ford 8.8. I think the gearing is 4.10.

Best pass was a 10.36 @ 132.72

This is the first car this cam has gone into. I'm happy

Just goes to show what GM power in a stang can do

cool results but isnt that kind of stretching the convoluted meaning of "cam only?"

Still impressive.
Carb, very light stang yes but awesome results!
10.3's in a basically untouched stock L92-Nice job!!
What did she put down on the dyno? Unlocked th350 so it'll dyno low (like mine) but what'd she do?

On the dyno it only showed 412.

Stretching it? Stock L92 with stock heads. Yeah, ok cam and intake. Happy now

I think they mean that its in a Fox body, you could put an LS1 in a go cart and go 6's cam only.

it isn't like mikey is trying to hide something and going for a record. He is posting results on a well built car. Stop trying to bash and congradulate him on a nice build. I'm sure another happy customer from you

Nice results, those LS3 motors are going to take the amatuer level drag racing world by storm in the coming years.

True. The motor itself is in fact a true cam only set up and certainly using the phrase cam only would be perfectly logical in this scenario if the car was a 2008/2009 Corvette, Escalade/Yukon Denali, G8 GXP or a 2010 Camaro.
But in a Mustang it's actually called a hybrid/swapped cam only LSx/LS3 motor.

Any specs on the cam?
Is it streetable? (i'm not affraid of a rough ride my car is completly gutted with straight pipes and mostly solid bushings)
Have the heads/intake been touched up at all?
stock compression?
how high are you spinning it?

I'm looking for a pretty much max effort cam setup to put in my ls1 rx7 that will still allow me to drive it on the street during the weekend.

Thats moving but I know I wouldent get the same results with my stock ls1 heads even though my car is about 200lbs lighter than that fox

I read about this engine over on the Team Chevelle board and he said it was a 6 liter truck short block with the L-92 heads. That means the block was at least a little heavier than the aluminum 6 liter or the Ford engine in a stock 5.0 Mustang. Sure sounds like it hauls a**. That is still only 364 cubic inches of Chevy power with streetable compression. P.S..... The guy also said the trap speed was 133.72.

Dave, maybe you can give some more details on the car. I think there are folks here that are interested.

As far as the cam, I am keeping the specification to myself but it is in the 230's intake, 240's exhaust. I'm more than happy to sell it though

Sure Mike,
Here goes;
The engine is a 6.0/LQ4 iron block from a 2006 truck
The pistons are notched for clearance and rod bolts replaced (ARP's)
Heads are off the shelf l92's with stock valves, milled .030, ports are untouched. Patriot Gold springs.
Rapid Motorsports cam (this one makes the combo, Thanks Mike!)
GM L92 single plane carb intake.
MSD 6010 box
Prosystems 780 carb( Patrick makes an awesome carb)
Kooks 1 7/8 headers
TH350 with ATI treemaster 8" 3800 stall
Ford 8.8 with 4.10's
Have revved to 7500 no problem, currently shifting at 7000.

Wow awesome combo. Would the pistons still need to be notched if the heads weren't milled guys?

Really nice running car Dave. That T-350 should live forever in that light car. What is the total run weight? We ran a T-350 down to low nines in a 3550 lb. Chevelle with nitrous.
