Default Joined the bumper draggin club today!!!!

Not on purpose, our local 1/4 mile track finally opened up today after bein down for almost 6 months. They totally redid the track, entire 1/4 mile in concrete and everything. So anyways, I wasn't expecting it to hook that great since it was just done and they just dragged it and everything a couple days ago and there wasn't a ton of rubber down, but just to be safe anyways, I set the shocks 1 click tighter than where they were the last time I had a little sky high action. Well the bitch hooked!!!!! It was goin up and up and up and finally i'm like ****, she's gettin too high I better pedal out of this and pedaled and layed right back into it and she came down fairly smooth, still heard a thud, but it really wasn't that bad at all, but I think I busted a cord in one of the tires like i've done in the past on landings like this cuz now she's a little shaky at high speeds, gonna go over everything next weekend to make sure I didn't damage any suspension components, but I don't think so from the quick once over I did of the car after that run. But anyways, I didn't think I even hit the bumper, thought I backed out before I did, but damn good thing I backed out when I did, cuz I was gettin ready to smash the hell out of it, couldn't believe when I watched this vid my buddy got!!!!

http://s115.photobucket.com/albums/n...evswheelie.flv

Anyways, I had some issues throughout the day that I have to work out, still can't get the car leaned out to where it needs to be even with a 6 jet spread (fuel being smaller) and 5.25 psi fuel flowing, think the plate isn't flowing the whole shot, but I did get some pretty good runs with the best being a 9.44 @ 145 on a 1.38 60' (which almost matches my best et and beats my best mph and i'm on a smaller shot than I was before), after the bumper drag I tightened everything up and tried working my way back down, but the track started to go away as it started to get really hot and basically melted the track, so the best I could muster was that 1.38, I was a little nervous to go back down to where it was when she went bumper happy, so I didn't!

Sorry for the novel, just had a pretty good day and wanted to share, gonna try and get my issues resolved and go back out and try again!

Gotta give huge thanks to Madman for this badass torque arm, this car never ceases to amaze me with how well it hooks!!!!

Here's another angle of that run, I actually couldn't tell it had tapped the bumper from this vid on my camcorder, but then when I seen the rear shot my buddy got I was like holy ****!!!

d,

Unfortunately it's always on Turkey weekend

Guess we'll catch up at Super Chevy in March? Keep the front end down (or paint the rear bumper cover black to match the front; makes touch up easier)
