Default need some work

hey guys,

took the 98 trans am to the track last night, bithlo in orlando if that means anything to anyone.

Mods:

Ported Maf
MTI G1 cam 228/232
ps headers and magna flow cat back
stock 3.42's, z06 clutch

3.261/2.671/2.990/2.686
7.739/6.729/6.563/7.430
10.851/9.780/9.631/11.145
77.04/80.53/80.24/69.36
13.485/12.330/12.190/14.005
15.629/14.422/14.288/16.269
103.91/107.54/106.49/100.82

I was kinda hoping with the mods done that I would be trapping around 110-111 at least.

The thing didn't hook up at all and it wheel hopped through most of 2nd. I was finishing at the top of 3rd

I realized I need to get that rear from wheel hopping.

This also was my first real time going to the strip so...

What do you guys think?

i've been looking at some other time slips in this section and I noticed that my mph between 1/8 and 1/4 is like 27 which compares to be pretty good. If I had wheel hop and spin as bad as I think I did, if I could get my 1/8 mph up 4 or so then I should be set.

Bump for the day

you most likely just need some more seat time man. Practice makes perfect. Buy some sticky tires and some suspension mods so you can utilize all of that power. You should be trapping like 114-118 with that cam, but without traction it won't happen. Plus mph isn't what matter it's your et. People are going to see who gets down the track the fastest not who traps the most.

I agree, I am perhaps one of the biggest problems. I have some UMI lower control arms and relocation brackets. From what i've read that should help most of my problem. I have some 275/35/18 Giugiaro's all around but I had 30psi in them too....

put on a drag radial (preferably mickey thompson's). That would be your best bet. Plus your on an 18 inch wheel, that alone is hurting you. The you could also get setup with a torque arm, subframe connectors, some qa1 shocks and be ready to

Some sponsors are having a great deal on BMR suspension so this would be a good time to pick some stuff up if you decide to. Hope this helps.
