New track times today 1/20/09
Went to sears point (Infenion) today. I got 3 runs then redlit in the 1st w/ -.017 rt.
I have a lid, magnaflow muffler and 4.10's (12 bolt). These runs were on 17 bias ply et streets 26x11.5 . I thought the MT would help alot more but i guess i need some chassis work. I'm hoping with a ram air kit and a pulley i could get to 111 mph. Oh the car is an M6

Keep in mind you're probably making stockish power because of no major power mods and the power loss from the 12-bolt and 4.10s, so for you to be hitting 12s and trapping 109 is already pretty solid. The car probably doesn't have the power to get you to much better than a low 1.8 60' as it sits full weight. That said, what are you launching at? If you were running an aftermarket clutch, I'd say a quick slip/dump from about 5000 and the tires should hold after a good burnout, but on a stock clutch it's not going to hold very long.

I think my first couple of burnouts were too short, just a little bit of smoke. I have some LCA brackets i want to install and hopefully those help a bit in putting the power to the ground. Front sway bar is on the car and won't be coming off
The weather was perfect for the most part, cool in the am then warmed up a little in the afternoon. More seat time will be a big help in finding what the car likes to launch at.

yea thats a good 60'. I took my front sway bar off and didn't notice much difference unless I was corner carving. So it's not a bad mod and easy to take off. Plus your front is that much lighter and weight will transfer better

Yeah, heat those tires up REAL well. Nice big long burnout. If you're only spinning for about 10 feet then grabbing you're doing pretty well, but I run 26x10.5 ET Streets and cut low 1.6s. Granted I'm making a lot more power, but if mine can hold to that on a 4500-5000 launch and not spin much with my ridiculous gearing then yours shouldn't be spinning at all with your power, gearing, and RPM. Give it a shot with the big burnout and see how it does!
BTW, if the car can hold for it, try a second gear burnout. Even when I just had the 4.10s a first gear burnout wasn't enough to get these tires hot enough.
