Default Zmax tnt 3-7 1st time in the 1/4..like to hear what you other guys on here ran

Went to Zmax tnt in Charlotte last night and didn't do too bad. I knew I would be in the 12s from my lackluster 8.0 (run out of gear) 1/8th mile times. My clutch was slipping just a bit in each gear and my friend said I was spinning, but a 3 grand launch netted me a 1.8 60'. Here's the rest:

1st pass 1.836 60' 7.908 1/8th 12.221 1/4 @ 114.53

My second pass was in a lot colder weather and I believe the track was going away. I launched @ 4500 but the tires couldn't hold on to the track(which I hear wasn't prepped that great). I had to feather it, got a little sideways, and still picked up on the back end.

2nd pass 2.139 60' 8.169 1/8th 12.470 1/4 @ 114.68

Both of these passes were side step drops on a stock clutch and of course powershifts. I went thru the lights at 6100 in 4th.

Hopefully I'll be getting a cam and clutch in the next few months with accompanying mods but I won't have enough for a 9" so guess the dragstrip runs will be limited or obselete.

I ran my car one pass and didtn't make another because of track conditions! I got an ok 60' for the conditions (1.59) but just before the 1/8 when I shifted to 3rd the car got way out of shape pretty much causing me to take up my whole lane so I got completely out of it then got back in it once it straightened up! I ended up running a 6.8X@95 and a 10.8@127. This was my first 1/4 mile pass in this car so I was hoping for a clean one, I usaully trap 105-107 in the 1/8 so that should have easily been a 6.5-6.6 then a low 10.30 ish @135+, oh well maybe next time!

4.10's...launched at like 2grand because i expected to spin...freakin hooked (heated the tires on second run)...think i could've launched around 3grand and got a 1.9 sixty on the street tires. i think next time i get tires i may get drag radials so i can try and pull 1.8's. but we'll see.

you should definately get drag radials since you don't have to worry about hurting anything(you drive a 4.6)...just picking

I have a Moser M9 rear with 35 spline axles and a spool! The track did hook somewhat out of the hole but around 500' or so is where is seen most people including me have the biggest problems!

BTW I am SPOOLED on carolinarides.com, I see you on there all the time!

Is there a website for this track? I have been wanting to come and try it out. I want to know the elevation of the track and stuff like that.

I lived close to there in the late 80's and early 90's.

I haven't found a site specifically for the dragstrip..there is some information on the Charlotte Motor Speedway site but I can't remember the link
