Got my first victory at Twin City Dragway!
I won the street class bracket race on Saturday night. I was planning to run a 150 shot that day and maybe have a chance at running a 10.99 but broke my shark nozzle while changing the jets before I headed out to the track. I decided that I would just focus on racing and try to run consistent on motor. I ended up dialing in a 12.42 and stayed close to that all night long. In the finals I was spotting about 4 seconds on a guy in a pontiac G6. I cut a .540 light but spun a little off the line. I ended up passing the G6 at the finish line by .03 seconds; however, he broke out anyway (he had cut a .700 light).
I was very happy to win my first race My family was there and we got everything on digital video. (I'll post the video later on youtube and embed it in this thread).
Anyway, I guess breaking my shark nozzle ended up being a good thing because I would have ended up wasting my time trial runs trying to break into the 10s and then would have likely lost out early in the elimination rounds due to not enough time trials on the motor (I was not planning to run nitrous during the bracket race).

Thanks!
I'm going to start focusing more on competing and less on going faster. I've been racing off and on since 1995 but half of the time I'm working on a new mod or something that distracts me from the race. I've been a few rounds before but never past just winning my entry fee back.
It does feel great to bring home the trophy and money! Now it's time to try again!
