Default Not happy with results.

well, i got my 3.73gears installed and went to the track and ran 7.68 at 88 mph on motor, my previous best pass was a 7.69 at 91 on motor with my 2.73 gears. I realize that the temperature was up a bit higher, but i figured i would see some better results. The car has been retuned for the gears and i figured that i would notice a nice improvement. Oh and the reason i decided to change the gears is because i have a cam fixing to go in and i knew the 2.73 gears just wouldn't work out well. But let me know what you guys think, i am pretty dissapointed.

You picked up 7 MPH? I'd say that's damn amazing from just a gear swap.

No way you ran 98 mph with the mods you have. You must have been spinning bad.

Yeah you really shouldn't have gained much if any MPH. I can't even see spinning being more than 1-2 MPH.

What were the 60's and 330's for the before and after runs?

my 60ft only improved to a 1.68 from what it used to do consistantly which was a 1.71 60ft with the 2.73s. my best 60ft with the 2.73s was a 1.69. i just figured i would get better results. Let me know what you guys think.

Agreed. He did say that the temp was hotter. It's always important to keep up with actual temp and overall DA whilst comparing mods.

I cant say what i gained from a 273to373 swap but i done full bolt ons the 3.73s and a taune and gained 1.1 off my e/t and 6mph....this was on the stock verter though......seems a gear swap doesnt benefit a stalled car as much....god i miss that setup...lol

Agreed, between personal bests and spring/summer air my car will differ by 3 to 4 tenths. You can't compare apples to oranges.

its all in the weather wait till summer and they will get worse. don't get down about it. gears don't effect a higher stall car well not much anyway.
