new best for my 383 LT1.. 9.20@151
Got in three passes at grudge. would have gotten in 4 most likely but for some strange reason after my second pass I had ZERO oil pressure on my gauge...
either my motor is blown or we have a faulty sender... got a mechanical from a buddy and we verified that we did in fact have oil pressure....
Made three passes tonight. Still shaking the car down and trying to nail down what the car likes for air fuel ratio, timing etc..... but we did get more aggressive with the tuneup and delay for the 2nd stage...
1st run-9.302@151.679 1.401 60' time.... (finally part of the in dire need of a parachute club)....
2nd run-9.34@151.474 1.457 60' time (redlit start after transbrake malfunctioned and sat there for a moment then launched but timer had already started)
3rd run-9.203@151.195 1.364 60' time.... (great pass, not the best 60' we've had but it'll do.. 0.8 seconds delay before 2nd stage turns on. 150hp stage 1, 175 hp stage 2....
What's funny is we went 5.882@120.218 in the 1/8 mile which by my calculations should equate to a 9.0x.. so i need to figure out why my car isn't backhalfing like it should..... maybe need to mess with high gear timing/fueling or sumthing...... also seemed like when we leaned it out to 12:1 the car actually lost MPH..... not sure it likes the hotter burn.... weird... either way we're creeping up on it and we're going to experiment soon with twin 175 shots and trying to turn both kits on at like .5 or .3...
gonna go to infineon and try to clean up the fueling in the XFI box with MORE nitrous... I'm thinking another 25hp (up the entire kit to 350hp) should be worth a little bit of time. and turn it on quickly should get us the 8 second run we've been gunning for...

Congrats. The 1/8-to-1/4 times on the 5.88 doesn't sounds too far off, depending on slippage. My buddy's nitroused '71 Nova has gone 5.96 in the 1/8 and 9.38 in the 1/4.

Looks like I"m gonna need to go like 5.75 in the 1/8th to make the golden pass...
Hell we still had .8 delay in the unit... I need to bring that down to like .1 or .2!!!!

My math says 5.79 will get you there
cause 5.88 for example x 1.54 = 9.055
I ran 9.20..... 5.79 x 1.54 = 8.91
so yeah a 5.79 would be either a low low 9.0 or a high high 8.9.... depending on how the car backhalfs...

yeah you guys do have some hookin tracks.... I think the best hooking tracks are the 1/8th mile tracks in the deep south..... must be something to do with the humidity. I've heard Texas has got some good hookin tracks too...
Infineon out here is reasonably prepped because it's a multi million dollar facility. Sacramento is hit or miss.... sometimes it's prepped and sometimes it's like an icerink....

Really Nice times, it's crazy that you have a good 60' time and 151mph so it should run 8's. I think with some more passes and a little fine tuning you will run 8's soon. How much rwhp did the car make on motor? n20? with the TH400/converter eating up HP. I just got my new 383LT1 running and the waterpump gave up on the dyno so I should be back at the dyno next wednesday. later Clint
