Default First time at the track, how'd I do?

Mod list :

-Hotcam (i.e. baby cam)
-Mac mid length headers and open cutout on the exhaust
-Tublar LCAs and weld in SFCs
-4L60e has a 3800 stall and a trans cooler

Fail list :

-Car is stock weight minus the front sway bar and the back seat rest
-I weigh 355 Lbs
-Worn street tires. They are Daytons, 235 width.
-First time ever running on the track in my life

Car made 337HP/345TQ on the dyno (tune is awful, but I'm not gonna bother with it until I have more mods and then tune it for nitrous).

Anyway, my best run of the night (1/8 mile) was 8.24 @ 87MPH with a 2.03 60'.

not bad for a 1st timer. i think a 8.2 in the 1/8th would equal about a mid to high 12 second pass in the 1/4

more like a 13.0

Multiply the 1/8 time by 1.58, that gets you very very close.

That's a good time, esp for a first trip and street tires etc etc. 87 MPH in the 1/8 will definitely get you deep in the 12's. My 12.6 run was on a 8.17 at 87. So if you hook up, it will go!

Yeah all the converters are telling me reeeeaaally high 12 but mostly a 13, but I'd hope it would be faster than that. The previous owner had the car running 12.4, only difference being he had DRs (and actually more weight in the car). I don't think DRs would take .6 seconds off my ET, but I guess you never know.

Either way I'm happy with the car. It drove 75 miles to the track, ran hard and times were consistent all night, and drove back and I didn't even use a half a tank of gas, it didn't get hot, just acted perfectly normal.

That is because the calculation assumes a couple of things and it has been backed by data from the NHRA for years.

1) Optimum launch and traction
2) Driver knows what they are doing

Did you try your formula on your own 1/8 times?

yep, it says I should have ran slower (12.76), it makes sense since I didn't go WOT for the first 3.5 seconds (street tires) so the 1/8 ET was slow with a 2.02 60 ft.

My car should run mid 11's on DR's so a 7.34 1/8 would do that, seems reasonable.

Like I said, the 60 ft has to be good to get this right. If I drop .5 off the 60ft with real tires that puts at about 11.7 1/4 which would be 7.40 1/8.
