Default CalSpeed sets new fastest stock bottom end LS1 record @ 144mph!

Well today was a nice day at Famoso Raceway (So Cal).. DA hovered around 800-1000ft most of the day (3000 ft than the last couple times out with the car). Track had very little prep as it was a cancelled "Battle of the Imports" race and they opened it to all cars. It was 90% front wheel drive street tire hondas and imports.

89 LX Mustang Notchback - LS1 / TH350, 8.8" 3.73

LS1 is a stock 98 with 88k miles on it. Stock rod bolts, stock bottom end. 5.3l stock heads, CalSpeed 238/242 camshaft, Edelbrock Victor Jr /w Sheetmetal elbow - 90mm TB, Kooks 1-7/8" Longtubes, dual 3.5" to 3" MAC mufflers, Custom EDGE (3500 foot, 4200 transbrake) 9" Converter, New 325/50/15 MT Drag Radials.

Made a few 10 sec n/a passes and then turned on the juice (.067 n20 jet) (simple single fogger wet kit).

Nitrous:
Both spray passes spun pretty hard blacktracking hard to a 1.6 60ft on both (horrible)

1st pass: 9.98 @ 143 (sprayed it about 150 feet out)
2nd pass: 9.93 @ 144 (sprayed 10 feet out, spun hard 115 mph @ 1/8th)

Ran out of gear both passes about 100 foot before the stripe, coming off the spray and riding the 7050 rev limiter out. I cant bring myself to move it to 7200.

If the car would just hook! It would probably go 9.40-9.50 pretty easily but woulda-coulda-shoulda.

Just a note..this isnt the "quickest" ET anyones ran on a untouched stock shortblock but I "believe" its definitely the fastest.

Very cool. Makes me want to get a 87-93 as a next project... Had a few back in the 92-99 days.

I added a bit of weight since last time out (about 50lbs) putting some things back in the car, mt radials (about 20lbs heavier for the pair versus the M&H's that were on it) etc... I would guess 2850 now. I swear gets heavier the more I do to it..
