yup i got to go for a half track run 1.4 60ft felt like

It was in the 6.20's all day long! New exhaust woke it up, but man it needs some fuel! 14.0 on wide ban up top! Put 4 numbers in carb on front and rear and same outcome!

wait when did you buy a set of bigger ones or did you make them? Where's the pics of these bad boys. I need to figure out a set shortly, I think I'll motorplate to give me more room since these thirdgens are tight. I have the proper fuel system already, bring by the drivetrain and we'll try it out

He found a one of a kind custom 1-7/8 stainless headers from a guy that made them and they are a 100% better then the ones they make for the 3rd gens! They are QTP or kooks quality too. They went in with the starter in the car and didn't touch anything! They have a ton of more room around the trans to so no auto trans clearance issues anymore.

race wight is around 3,300lbs

1 7/8 headers on. new 3" y pipe, 3.5" circle track mufflers, howe merge y into a 4" dynomax muffler. 6"x22" case.

i told you i was doing headers. i dont play!
i was going to have a set built, but both chassis guys in the area were swamped, so i was up till 230 one night trying to put something together.
found a guys photobucket with some pics, knew his headers werent the hawks ones, and begged him to sell them to me. luckily he is going turbo anyway, so had them for sale.
his name is jessie coulter. he runs the horsepower house in bowling green kentucky. he was in last months issue of the fastest street car on a couple of different pages. small world!
i was like "i know that guy...." ame issue as the lsx shootout. if anyone of you were there, he had the red 91-92 style z28 running street radial. his car goes 8.80's on the hose.
he may be able to help you out, or may not.
the headers were built from bits and pieces of damaged and broken headers he had lying around. they are VERY well built. you can see one of the drivers side tubes is actually from an ls1 car. check out where the air tube was welded up.
headers look different colors in the pics, but now that the heat has got to them, they are all uniform.
headers went in from the bottom with the starter and steering shaft in the car. they will fall out if you arent careful! pass side is a lil low, but still not as low as the y pipe, so all is good. if the coils and covers were off, i have no doubt they would slide in from the top.
plenty of room to mess with servo, tranny lines, linkage. hell, i might even be able to make a band adjustment with the exhaust on now.
raceweight is going to be JUST under 3300 pounds. i have not had it on a scale since i made a few changes.
im going to guess the car is tipping the 2980-2990 range right now.

They look good tj, i'm waiting to sell of my 1 3/4" ones if they ever sell and then I'll be on to making these. That exhaust you're running looks like it'll be a little on the loud side for my neighborhood since they like calling the cops on me for my camaro.

what exhaust is on your car now?
this isnt terribly loud. its actually more quiet in the car over my catback.
those circle track muffs are 10" case, and that dynomax is a 22" long case.
2-3 local guys have a similar setup, but with a much shorter muffler.
my 408 makes less noise than cam only 346's.

2.5" true duals with turbo mufflers, and an h-pipe. I have cutouts for the track though.
