Default New Best: Cam Only...10s getting close

Last time out back in Nov the car went a best of 11.370 @ 116.88mph with 3600lb race weight. So I went to MIR today, caught some great air!The changes I made from my last pass was that pulled little bit of weight out of the car, I lost around 50lbs lol, and I made a duct that attaches to FTRA. Race weight this time was 3525. I think it has some 11.0hs in it as it sits. Didn't run with rear 15s and 275/50s yet, hopefully I will go tomorrow with those on. Hey congrats on your PB. I was there in the silver z06, you talked to my gf.

We were just talking about your car and were wondering your full list of mods now we have it. Impressive time for cam only!

Do you have your own weather station or are those #s from dragtimes?

Matt
We have found dragtimes to be pretty far off from actual DA at the track. They get there weather report from a local airport 20 miles away. If i had to guess i would say DA was in the -800 range. Just based off of MPH and temp/humidity.

Thanks, new best for me also today was an 11.32 at 121.72 1.60 60'. They told me to park it because i don't have a rollbar. I believe it had an 11.2x in her today if i was able to make some more passes. I'm so jealous of your fbody auto 60's. You guys are both cutting 1.48 60's on the same tires as me. We probably have right around the same HP yet my car 400lbs lighter. 3130lb raceweight...yet still slower

I think we may take her car out there next weekend depending what the weather looks like. I think we are going with the Torquer V2.

Gotcha, well thats def good to know about dragtimes. Congrats on the new pb! Man that sucks about them to tell you to park it though. Yeah man the torquer v2 would be great cam, its nowhere near as aggressive as a ms3, ms4 etc..The driveablity would be alot better. What stall and gear are in her t/a?

I have some 4.10s I'm thinking about installing but after today I'm leaning more to a 3.73 now.

Yeah the car is really that heavy, I'm 285lb. Yeah MIR is closed for the winter, Today was opening day. I'm thinking about going back tomorrow and run with rear 15s on but I'm not sure yet. For some reason my car has all ways worked great with 17in dr I dont know why for alot stock parts on still. I have some gears/ 4.10s that I need to install. I really need them for top half of the track, only crossing the traps at 6200-6300ish I need it to be 6800-7000rpm/my peak. After today though I'm strongly considering 3.73s now.

Haha its cool, nah its all ways been a auto. I have stock 6spd/3.42 10bolt, I'm on my 3rd 10bolt lol. I really need to save up for a 12bolt.

Its actually not really twisting that bad as my 11.3 pass for some reason. The only thing I changed was the front shock setting, I had it at 12 clicks all the way stiff today and on my 11.3 pass in Nov the shock setting was at 5 clicks. When it was 5 clicks it seemed to roll over/ squat alot to passengers side. Its wierd.....

Man I wish I had videos of it

are the 17 and 15 the same size? are the alot lighter or somthing? I'd think the 15s would be lighterm and the more sidwall would help. But do you works best for you. thats what you find out how to get a little more. If you nomrally go 116-117s and your ripping off 120s in the better DA, Your gona need some great air agian to get 10's I was thinking you need 121s . I dont think your gona get that in just better air. So need more power or less weight. take the front swaybar off, if you have it.

you run the open plate on the borala? you can try removeing the mufflar but it might 60 worse from the lack or weight depending on how miuch traction you have, The auto stuff is weird, but I know some guys with not thar great DR run with more gas for the weight and run faster if they spin. Can you pull the mufflar off easy at the 3bolt, at the track? try that.
take off the SLP 3point SFC there somthign stupid like 47#!!!!!!

Is the FTRA sealed to the lower lid? seal it to the lid good and air tight, with the front opening blocked off. Get some tight foam, or tape it up. I Don't kbnow that setup but that SLP stripping for the front of the lower airbox sucks, you need to seal it up!

ya when you losen the shocks and move some weight its gona twist more then being stiff. what was the 60s between the 12, and the 5 settings?

15 and 17 dr are about the same size 26inch(15) vs 25.6inch (17). I havent weighed the two yet but I'm sure there is little weight difference between the two. Yup the front swaybar is off, and the ftra is all sealed up. Used the foam for the slit and use some hvac tape for inside the air box area. The da on my 11.3 was around -800.

At 5 clicks it went a best of 1.496, would go consistent 1.51-1.53s. At 12clicks it went best of 1.475, went consistent 1.47-1.48s.

Her car is still a daily driver so ya she wants a cam she can use everyday. She runs a 3600Vig and a stock 3.42 6 spd rear like yours.

You would benefit from more sidewall on a 15" rim but these 17" DRs still amaze me. You are both pulling the same 60'. The suspension on her car is 100% bone stock. Her car pulls a front full size 17" off the ground. The new drag pack that i made is the lightest 17" rim that will fit the 275/40/17. My gto spare front runners with spacer are only 28.5lbs. Stock 2000 corvette thinspokes on the rear weighed it at 18lbs without the tire.

Who tuned your car? I didn't get to watch many of your runs but one of the runs i heard you bouncing on the 2-3 limiter pretty bad. She has had some trouble with that in the past. I think we solved it by going in HP tuners and put a smaller tire size in.

To get better air you are most likely going to have to wait until november. We do a lot of rentals with some other groups but if you could get a day like my gf had when she ran her 11.70 you would run a 10 sec pass. That day everyone was setting new PBs, Ranger did a new record for the stock C6Z drag radial. Yesterday was good though.

Here is a shot of her car last fall.
