Default MS4, 6 Speed Daily Driver Firehawk in the 11s! (Vids)

Well Finally I got in the 11s with my Firehawk. I drove it to the track and back home (Hour+each way)

FAST 90/90
MS4
6 Speed
Monster Stage 3
Spooled Strange 12 bolt
325/50 Radials(19 PSI)
Full UMI Adj. Rear Supension
Strange Single Adj Rear Shocks, Stock Front Suspension
Full Weight with AC..everything

Strated out with a bad day, Broke my Battery Hold down, so it would fall into the A/C Condensor and short out, I would come out of the hole and my Dash would light up lol and then run 12.2s?? With some help with good buddies, Got the Job done, Now its time to make improvements!

First:

60FT: 1.970
1/8 ET:7.816
1/8 MPH:92.25
1000 ET:10.155
1000 MPH:107.17
1/4 ET:11.954
1/4 MPH:117.40

Second:

60FT: 1.969
1/8 ET:7.869
1/8 MPH:92.52
1000 ET:10.139
1000 MPH:107.53
1/4 ET:11.931
1/4 MPH:117.74

Pretty Constitant for a 6 Speed car. Both Passes Side Stepping @ 5500, First pass I slightly lifted after it started to spin, Second I just stayed it.

Nice runs! Get that 60ft down and you'll see mid 11's pretty easy.

Was that on a 28" tire?

Drag Radials not a Bias Ply..Stock Shocks up Front, But most of all Track Prep.

With a 6 speed a lot of factors come into play getting a car to work. A guy really needs double adj. shocks to keep the rear planted and from unloading. Also A Bias Ply tire is better to take the shock vs the radial.

Congrats man, I've followed your car a little after you posted in one of my threads a while back. Good work, like others have said keep focusing on the 60 and mid 11s is in your near future.

Why sidestep the clutch? Why not try a fast slip from a little lower rpm, you were just blowing the tires off.

You should easily be able to shave off 2-3 tenths from your 60ft. Should make for some much improved times.

The Fast Slip wouldnt work, it would bog every time. I just coudltn get the quick slip down. With the cam It was soo hard to keep it in the right RPMs. I have stock front shocks so no Weight Transfer is happening. The man reason its spinning is because I have a Radial tire and not a Bias Ply, ( ET Drag, QTP something like that) Shocks and Tires are the main issue, I figured spinning was better than bogging because that way I was stuck in the 12s.

Spinning deff better than bogging with the 6sp. My best run with the 6sp was an 11.75 at 118 picking up the left front about 5 inches spinning sideways out of the hole. If I ever bogged it my ET suffered drastically.

With a 28" tire you will be best off with at least 4.56 gears. Any less gear you are going to bog or blow the tires off with to much wheel speed.

I go consistant 1.50 with a quick slip and no bog in mine. 6SP., 4.11's, and a lil 275/50 MT DR, stock rear sway bar too lol.
More seat time and you will find what works!
