Default Bias ply vs Radial

i was wondering, i will be using a second set of rims for racing only, but i have a 17" rim, should i use bias ply or radial? i heard bias ply stick a whole lot better and will dip me into the 11's. is this true and can my stock 10 bolt with stock 3.42's hold up to the tire? also what size is best? i have heard between 26"-28", mods are in my sig

You won't want a radial being a manual they can be very hard to make consistent. Bias will be mush easier to hook and be consistent. Most guys run a 26" unless they are making killer power and need the traction of the 28".

I just noticed you made two thread and should have just made one. Anyhow, DON'T buy the BFGs. Unless you need a tire to drive on the street and want a little bit more traction for the strip. I have talked to a few guys at the track and they said they weren't upset with the BFGs but they really wish they would have gotten a real track tire.

A real track tire is MT ET streets or M&H racemasters or the like. The BFG is a nice tire but no one who has them at the track that I have talked to would by them again. They are a street tire therefore not much stickier then most other street tires.

Whats the car run now? I hate to say It but I hardly doubt any tire will get you in the 11's with your mods. Kiss the 10 bolt goodbye as well. Best hooking for your setup will be 26" bias ply's. I like hoosiers over M/t's but they're all fairly close.
