Default 1st time out Speed inc 416/l92

Brought the old beater out last weekend for first testing of 416/l92. I was real happy with the first results. I think with some better weather and some tweaks it should have some more left in combo. Here is a quick rundown

Speed inc 416/ls3
Ported l92 heads stock valves
Comp lsl cam 243/251 112 lsa( going to swap)
Ported ls3 intake (by me) 90 mm T/B
hooker 1 7/8 headers 3 inch cut out
speed inc 4l60e with ss4000
Ford 9 inch 3.50 gear
275/60/15 drag radials
3550 race weight
Car is setup for 150-250 shot.
I drove it to track 100 miles round trip. 93 octane
Weather was 1000-1200 da on runs

et 10.66
1/4 mph 123.24
60ft 1.42

Couple of pics from track. First pass was the best at 10.66 I also ran 10.66/10.68/10.71. Good bracket car

Would like to thank all the guys at Speed for the help in putting combo together. Should be a fun year.

Thanks for nice words guys.

As far as cam. Current cam makes peak power at 5800-6000 rpm. By the shift point car is down like 30-40 rwph at 6700. Not happy with the low rpm surging it currently has. Want something with less overlap that will pull to 6800-7000 rpm. I'm gonna need the rpm when I spray this thing. Check out this dyno sheet an you can see what I'm talking about. This is cutout open vs. closed. Back to back runs so it was hot on the 482 pull. 200-210.

I was thinking maybe VA Speed/Ed Curtis/ Or someone along those lines for a new cam.

I built this thing to drive nice and go nines on spray.

Being down that much by the shift point may not be due to the cam. Those valves are heavy. What rocker arms are you using?

Stock rockers. Pushrod length was checked. Springs are good. (Patriot golds). IVC is at 50. Seems like most stroker cams are in the 52-53 area. I'm sure the ls3 intake isn't helping either. Would like to get a ported fast to see what it does on a stroker. Car goes allmost 100 mph in the 1/8 which should make it around 125-126 in the 1/4.

Also the car is like a brick in the front end. Not much aerodynamics with this thing.

Whats your shift extension and what rpm are you going through the traps? Sounds like it could be a converter issue.

Shifting at about 6700 comes back to about 5500. Going thru the traps about 6200-6300. The graphs on the dyno are locked runs.
