Why is my car so SLOW?!!
I have a 2001 Trans Am. Stock it ran 13.18 @ 106. I was happy with that. Now, i Rebuilt the bottom end, AFR 205 heads, 226/230 cam, ARH LT's, True Duals with cutouts, and a Yank SS3200. With all this, it dyno'ed at 411 rwhp and 400 rwtq on a mustang dyno at Straightline Performance. The tuner there said i had the power for about 11.50 @ 118-119mph. I was expecting something around this, but my best time was a 12.43 @ 109.93 with a 1.85 60ft. I am extremely dissapointed! I didnt spin at all either!? I will post a vid soon. Any ideas as to why this is??

Well first thing is your 60ft sucks. What were u running for tires ?Your converter is a little too small and what gear r u running. But temp, humidity, track prep could also make u run like ****.

I tried to improve the 60ft but i just couldn't! Any tips? Im on street tires but they weren't my problem because i wasn't spining. I have stock 3.23 gears. It never felt like the converter would even hit hard at all!

I bring my car to 1000rpms it works great right there.411 rwhp and it does not spin street tires.Maybe it is doing it enough to give u a shitty 60ft even though u dont feel it or see it in your vid.Try a set of Nitto 555R's and see if that helps.

go up to 2500rpm. Your prolly just not driving right. Try to get some sticky tires. What rpm are you shifting at. If it is under than 5000 thats your problem. 6500 Is the max you should go. What kind of gears?

That shows me that there has to be something else wrong! not just a bad 60ft time! Maybe it is the trans? I lost my first time slip of the night but i think it was a 12.42 with a 1.98 60ft? Ill try and get up videos soon!

did you install a shift kit in the tranny at all with the converter? did you install a tranny cooler? sounds to me like the tranny is getting hot and flaring between shifts. either that or your converter is really really loose. i ran a REALLY loose converter when i first did my 400 swap and it wouldnt go anywhere (mods in sig) with the loose converter it went 12.68@108 you get what you pay for with converters and 120k stock tranny with 400+ horsepower i dont see that thing lasting long at all without a cooler and shift kit

No shift kit, but i did install a cooler. The converter is a brand new Yank ss 3200. The only thing i can think of is that the trans is slippin and shifting slow? I plan for spray in the future so that is why i choose the 3200 and it is 95% street driven. If anyone with alot of experience with these cars would want to get together at us41 dragway one night for TNT and well try and figure out my problem? maybe get me an 11sec timeslip?

I am with everybody else, it has got to be a tranny issue. I think your tranny is slipping and it might be confused as the stall slip.
I have had my tranny rebuilt 2 times since I have had the car (less than 70,000). First was a bad rebuild but second time it got upgraded parts.
