Default auto vs stick shift (60' etc...)

I am wondering those of you racing at the track regularly what your 60' times are with a stick shift car... vs. those with an auto.

The consistency s.cks for me and my stick shift car... no way, can you be consistent... I'm seriously thinking of getting an auto for the next car, but then the "fun" factor on the street is gone ... don't know what to do..

thoughts? Results?

tks

Well with my 6sp my best 60ft was 1.63 (just one) and with my auto with more of a nitrous stall has been 1.62 (1.50 on the gas) so far. The main difference is even tho the 60fts are almost identical the auto is much more consistent in backing up the 60ft, traction permitting.

Side note, I never ran one but most all that do say it increased their consistency in the 60ft and that's a 2-step.

If you compete...get an auto. Not only is it way more consistant, but you sucessfully run a radial, which most KOS comps require. Or with a bias ply you get stuck in true 10.5 and get destroyed...

When my car had bolt ons and a 150 shot it pulled a 1.60 with room for a lil improvement. The auto has been plagued with issues but halfass launch produces a 1.7 60ft on motor. once it gets lined out should be 1.6x on motor or a lil better and much better on the gas.
